I recently moved homes locally in Tarzana and had a wonderful experience using NorthStar Moving. The people at the office made it easy to schedule and plan my move, and they really helped me prepare for every detail in the moving process. From parking, packing, traffic, to delivery and set-up, NorthStar Moving allayed all of my stress. When the movers arrived to our home they had big smiles and were ready to work. I was so impressed to see them lift every item carefully over stairs, around walls, and through the doorways. They cared more about the items and my home than I did! Not to mention they worked fast! The crew at my home was so friendly, courteous, and ready to lend a hand. Arriving at new place, the crew unloaded and patiently moved my furniture around for me until I knew where I wanted things to go.

I even got a call from the office making sure everything went well. This moving company has excellent customer service. From the office team to the movers in my home, everyone had same attention to detail and care for my move. I can’t recommend this moving company enough. I used NorthStar Moving to assist me move from a 1 bedroom apartment in West Los Angeles to Santa Ana. I called several places prior to NorthStar and received a great estimate from Wendy. I told Wendy that I saw their reviews on Yelp and she gave me a 5% discount in the quote. I originally scheduled the move for the 25th of August but needed to change the date to the 19th. Their office accommodated my request to modify the date without any hassles and called me 24 hours prior to the newmove date to confirm.

The arrival time window I was given was between 8 am and 10 am. The movers arrived at 9 am and took almost 3 hours to pack up furniture and some boxes……probably because I asked them to wrap the furniture extra securely since it would be sitting in storage for awhile and not unpacked right away.

The moving crew – Aldolfo F., Alejandro, and Venancio – were polite and professional. They took great care with a new plasma TV and TV console to ensure that it was packed securely.

All in all, the furniture packing up portion took longer than I expected with 3 guys, but the moving crew made good time on the horrible 405 freeway and moved everything into storage within a half hour of arrival.

I would recommend NorthStar moving and use them again for a local move.

I was looking for a company for a local move of my one bedroom apartment. Several friends had referred me to NorthStar and when I called them for an estimate, they sent out a person the next day to do an inventory and give me an estimate. They said their quote would not exceed the estimate of 7.5 hours of work. I was told the men would arrive between 8-10am AND they showed up exactly at 8am. For the next 6 hours they worked non-stop (not even taking a bathroom break) and because they finished under the 7.5 hour estimate, the final price was several hundred dollars lower. Nothing was broken or damaged even though I had a lot of glass furniture and large paintings. I would gladly use them again.

Great movers! I moved my office and Northstar did an amazing job! The three Northstar employees did a great job of moving all of our office supplies, equipment, etc. They arrived on time, they were corteous and fast! They took the stress out of moving and made it extremely easy.

Moving is such a stressful time and for the second time in a year this was a great experience with NorthStar. Ron Cohen came ot my house and evaluated my move. He gave me a great quote and it came in very close to the estimate. I had to change my move date 5 times…and every time i asked the answer was “no problem.” On moving Day Richard H shoed up with Miguelito K and Roberto. Richard had been one of the movers on my first move and now he was the leader. Nice to see a company promotes hard work. THe move was great. They were fast and helpful and nothing we wrong all day. I moved from one 2BR in Santa Monica to another 2BR a few blocks away. The movers showed up on time (actually 20 minutes early!) and quickly and efficiently packed up my old place and moved it to the new place, where they quickly and efficiently unpacked everything.

There was no damage to anything and the movers were all very courteous and professional.

One thing that I liked in particular was that, for a moving company, this place is very legit. They do everything with all the required forms, emails and phone calls. All of the reps are very helpful and accessible over the phone. Perhaps most importantly, they tell you about all of the charges up front, so you’re not surprised with extra fees at the end of the move.

Without question, I’d use Northstar again.

If you’re looking for the best, look no further, we found them! NorthStar Moving made our moving day so stress free and easy. We moved locally within Tarzana on July 4th, we were nervous because our date is like the busiest moving weekend of the summer. Although I am sure they were very busy that day, NorthStar made us feel like we were a priority. They were on time both at pickup and delivery. The movers worked hard the entire move, even though it was so hot! They were courteous, helpful, and very efficient. The office team that coordinated the move and called on to follow up before and after also made the entire moving process pleasant. The price is reasonable and worth it! I highly recommend them to everyone.

I can’t say enough great things about the North Star crew. We live in Costa Mesa, we have a large home, it took two trucks tomove us. Here is what they did, they did an in home estimate, made it competitive, then they delivered what they said they would, service. NorthStar packed my house in one day, moved us the second day and then came back an unpacked us. I am disabled and it was such a relief to have a crew that listened to me, took care with my belongings and wasn’t upset if I wasn’t too sure where I wanted what every time. We had a lot to move and it was confusing…they never lost patience and took the time to get it right. Nothing was broken lost or damaged.
They left Chatsworth at 5AM on Wednesday morning to be at my house by 8AM to meet their deadline, thats dedication

Everybody I spoke to in the office was friendly, professional, and helpful, especially Ted. He was the coordinator assigned to my local move, and when I said that the last time I moved it was “call my friends, rent a U-Haul, and buy pizza and beer” he answered every question plus a few I didn’t think to ask.

I can’t say enough good things about my moving team – Alex, Harry and Mario. Not only did they work their butts off, but they were unfailingly polite and professional. Boxes marked “Fragile” always were put on top of the stack, and nothing broke. Even my elderly TV was well-wrapped and cared for like it was new (probably the best handling that TV’s had in years).

My second move with NorthStar and BRAVO! Without a doubt from beginning to end, the most accommodating, friendly, professional, and easy move EVER! From the front office to the end of the move I do not have one complaint! The foreman and crew were terrific. They went over and beyond what I had asked for. My furniture was moved down two flights of stairs and up three… perfect condition. I found Northstar on Yelp and liked all the good reviews. I had moves to make, one from la to pasadena and another from my house in Palm springs to pasadena. Ilan came to my house and came up with a great price. He was amazing. Totally professional, very reasonable and was reachable by phone through the whole process. With two moves, I was very stressed and he was always there to go over any questions I had. Ask for him, he is really great. On moving day, the guys were ontime and super nice. Fausto was the moving foreman and he was fair, helpful and very friendly. Very good at his job as well. I highly recommend asking to have Miguel on your moving team. He is a small guy but by far the hardest worker and he is calm and helpful.
With two moves from big houses, with heavy furniture and stairs, I was very very pleased with Northstar.

Northstar moved us from a 3 story townhouse to an apartment. The 4 man team was professional, quick…I mean fast, polite and careful. This was the best moving company I had ever experienced. Everything was well done, and all items were received at the end in excellent condition. All items were taped and wrapped to assure safety of our possessions. I would certainly use them again, and highly recommend their services to anyone. Ron is very organized in the before preparation which also helped with a smooth move. The cost is calculated at the end, and the full estimate charge was not needed which helps alot. If you choose Northstar, you won’t be sorry.

NorthStar was fantastic!!! Wendy in Sales was wonderful and I couldn’t ask for better service.

They took the time to care and wrap my belongings. I have family antiques and I wasn’t worried when they drove away about being ruined.

I have also chosen to store my belongings at their location and that has been wonderful! It is safe, nicely packed, and their prices are much better then you will get at Public Storage.

Overall, it was a great experience and has made my move effortless and easy. I can’t recommend them enough!!!

We used NorthStar June 19, 2010 to move my boyfriend’s ex wife and son from one apt. to another in the same complex. Sounds like it should have been easy, but there was a TON of stuff to move.

We used them in April for the first move and were so impressed of course wanted to use them again. The crew was supposed to show up between 9-11am, and they were early–just like the first time. I will definitely take early over sitting around during that two hour window. Crew chief Lionel and his 3 guys were terrific–moved everything in 4 hours. Nothing broken, everything moved to the corresponding place in the new unit as it was in the old, they were great. At then end, he asked if there was anything else that needed to be moved somewhere else, but of course there wasn’t because they got it right the first time.

They will most certainly be our first call for any future moves.

Northstar was very helpful and accomodating from the get go. Their schedulers were professional. and the moving crew was friendly and efficient. Overall, they are not the cheapest, but they did everything they could to keep costs minimized. But you get what you pay for. And I think its worth a few extra dollars to get efficiency and good service. I would use them again.

I moved from San Francisco to Chicago a few weeks ago and was very nervous about my stuff arriving late and paying too much. Wendy at Northstar helped put together my quote and eased my nerves. It also helped that the company has such great reviews on Yelp. I had only a 4-day window for delivery when I would be in Chicago to intercept the movers and Northstar made it happen. I packed most stuff myself, but they wrapped the furniture and did a great job. The movers were extremely professional and fast. They arrived late at pick-up, but that’s okay because they gave me a discount.

As the delivery got closer, I was told unexpectedly that I would incur a hefty find from my new condo building if the movers arrived on the weekend. So, I called Northstar in a panic and again they made it happen. The delivery was right on time, when I requested, extremely quick and very professional again.

I’m very impressed with this company and highly recommend them to others!

Used Northstar to move homes a few years ago and then used them again this week. They were fantastic. Both times, my contact person was Gadi. The move was planned perfectly, the guys were friendly, on time and worked their hearts out. Nothing was damaged and they came in below the estimate (which was reasonable to begin with). Our foreman was great and worked just has hard as his guys. Easily the best move we’ve ever completed. I’d hire these guys again in a second.

From start of inquiry to end of move – fast, clean, professional. NorthStar was the first of four companies I emailed requesting quotes to contact me – within 45 minutes of my request. I was quoted a not to exceed price the next morning by Barak – a fair price for four movers + a shuttle van for my steep driveway. Move leader Roberto and his team arrived early and went to work immediately – these guys knew what to do and did it. I felt the typical anxiety disappear instantly. They did not disappoint, moving me in half the quoted time – HALF THE TIME. Can’t imagine that this is always the case, but I tipped large and waved goodbye.
