Moving is the most painful process ever and hiring NorthStar was the best decision we ever made! They were AMAZING. We moved from a 2 bedroom apartment (on the 5th floor, down the hallway, through a courtyard). They send 3 movers and they made the move effortless. The were efficient and on top of everything. When we got to to our new place, they unloaded all the boxes and placed them in the rooms that they belong. Oh and a huge plus, they provided unlimited apparel boxes, and transferred all my clothes into the closet..no messy clothes on the floor! I love it! I highly recommend hiring NorthStar.

I recently moved with NorthStar for the third time and once again found their service exceptional. They definitely live up to their high rating with the Better Business Bureau. From the office staff to the 3 man team sent to assist in our move on each occasion was courteous and helpful. I would recommend NorthStar to ensure your move is seamless and less stressful.

First off, I’m sure I’m not in the minority when I say I hate moving.  I hate every aspect of the process, especially the lugging of crap up and down stairs or through round about ways to get to an elevator.  I hate it, put me in Gitmo instead…

That said, I highly recommend NorthStar if you’re like me and the thought of calling up family and friends to invite them to help move makes me shudder and gives me hives.

I did my research and called around, I compared this and that and in the end, I feel I had made the absolute right choice.  I got quotes from FlatRate and it came out to $510 and they took of $50.  It was tempting as I wasn’t sure what the final outcome with NorthStar was going to be, and I definitely had a budget of $500 in mind.

My sales person was Samantha and she was great.  Part of the sales pitch or not, she was excited to help me move.  Which made me feel eased.  She wasn’t pushy and when I asked for a lower rate, she was more than willing and understanding.  You never know unless you ask.  I had my concerns at first, I assume sometimes when you ask for a lower rate, something is going to give somewhere.  I had the nightmare that the movers showing up late, dilly dallying and taking their time to make up the difference ect.

But no worst case senario happened.  The movers showed up a bit earlier, loaded up and packed things as needed, didn’t graze any walls and were very careful with everything.  No damage to my belongings, the apartment, the building and especially no damage to my back.  The move took them 1 hour to load, and about 2 hours to unload in the proper areas.  Let me tell you, the pathways from the apartment to the truck and then the truck to the new place were not easy treks.

So it roughly took them 3 hours to load and unload.  Quick considering the last two times, it took myself and 4 other members of my family 12 hours to do that…

I unfortunately don’t remember the three guys that moved me, but they were all awesome.  No effing around like my brothers and their friends. ha ha.

Oh yeah, the cost?  Flat Rate had me moving for $510 right?  NorthStar’s bill came out to under $390.  Which included materials and the 1 hour drive time.

So final words, you can spend $150 and rent a U-Haul, materials, get no waredrobe boxes, fill up the gas tank, call up friends and family, and unpack and rehang your clothes and get things close to done 10 hours later and then complain about your back.

or

Spend some a little bit more and get it all done and put the liability on someone else and get it done in under 4 hours.

I slept well that night, without a sore back and my girlfriend didn’t have to hear me whimper from pain in my sleep.

Samantha and NorthStar – FOR THE WIN!!!

We used NorthStar Moving Corp for the 2nd time to make the big move from a rental to our own house. Once again, we were beyond happy with the service. The 3 men that arrived were very kind & professional, and they all worked extremely quickly. We had our rental house to clear out as well as 2 storage units, and they took care of it all in a timely fashion.

Everything was transported in perfect condition – no damage to any of our stuff. They took the time to organize boxes they way we wanted, and they even took apart our bed-frame which wouldn’t fit through the door (we built it in the room).

They’re prices are reasonable, and anyone who is less expensive is probably cheaper for a reason. I would absolutely recommend NorthStar for any move. Everyone I have dealt with from there has been courteous, professional and efficient.

I have used NorthStar Moving two times in the past, and as a loyal client and big fan I knew that I could trust them with something as valuable as my family’s move. We recently had a baby, and with an expanding family, moving became both necessary and more challenging. However, from the first call to the last few boxes, their service was exceptional! The movers worked hard, the office team followed up throughout the move, we felt like the move was just as important to them as it was to us. We moved locally within the same neighborhood, but I don’t think I could have done it without NorthStar Moving. This was definitely the best moving experience ever! In these tough economic times you have to make sure you get value for what you are paying for, and I am happy to say that my move with NorthStar Moving is definitely worth it. Not only did they get the hard work taken care of, but they gave my family and me peace of mind, which in a move is priceless. Thanks to Yelp I found a moving company in NorthStar that I could trust with my belongings. I have no complaints, (though I had everything boxed up and ready to go when they arrived so I can’t speak to their actual small item packing abilities) they helped my move go smoothly by taking my heaviest, most cumbersome items on a short, three mile move. That way I saved my back a little pain and they were able to come in, quickly load up my larger furniture and I think even they were surprised how quickly the process went. 

They were professional, prompt and I didn’t notice any damages. Their customer service (led by Wendy on the phone when I called for a reservation) was friendly and personable, and made me feel that I could trust them.

I was dreading having to move especially since I have a baby at home and needed the baby essentials unpacked and ready to go the same day. I had 3 guys from Northstar who were total life savers. These guys showed up a few minutes early and they had our stuff loaded into the truck in less than 2 hours. I was so amazed a bought the guys lunch. After lunch they started unloading and we were done a couple hours later. I was sure the move was going to go into the evening. Needless to say I was in total shock  when we were done by 2pm.  It was by far the easiest move I’ve ever experienced. The movers were fast, courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend Northstar to anyone I know.  I thought their pricing is reasonable and their service was excellent!

Northstar did a wonderful job with our move.  They were professional, pleasant, and handled all of our stuff with great care.  We couldn’t have been happier with our move.  I would highly recommend this company.

Moving is stressful.  It sucks.  Nobody likes the process, so these guys are a lifesaver.  They make life easier and as stress free as possible.

The people on the phone and on the actual move were all awesome.  Tori helped me on the phone she was great in getting me through the options and Guy H. and his crew moved my crap fast.  Get the extra mover guy to help out; 3 people is just a small upgrade in price, but it goes much faster.

They have moving blankets and tape and can help you get everything squared away and are great about wrapping tv’s, mattresses, etc.  Reasonable price too; worth the cost so you don’t have to bug your friends to help and the truck rental etc.

Moving is always going to suck, but these guys make it suck less.

Earlier this year I moved from LA county to South Orange County and they were a huge help.  The movers showed up on time, actually a little early.  They were friendly and very professional, and funny.  While on the freeway, they were great.  The drive in traffic was about an hour, and no one got lost or anything.  All my things were delivered in perfect condition.

I would just like to say thank you to all at Northstar Moving for making our move fast and painless. I think I speak for most people that finding fair and professional movers can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. But Northstar’s group of guys (Gil, Herberto, Ernesto) took really good care of me and my wife (and everything we own). They were fast, friendly, and professional… A great team!

Joel and his crew showed up early and were very efficient and hard working, as well as being pleasant to deal with.  I would definitely recommend North Star based upon our experience.

I called NorthStar on short notice for a move at the end of the month in Berkeley, CA. While all the other companies I called were busy, NorthStar was able to accommodate me. Even when I had to cancel at the last minute and then call back the next day to get the move appointment again, NorthStar was flexible and still had the slot to move my family. The team was courteous, efficient, and careful with our fragile pieces. I have used a lot of moving companies in the past few years, and NorthStar was by far the most patient and professional from the first call to the final box. Furthermore, their prices were below the rates of their competition. I give them my highest recommendation.

OK I’ve moved many times in the past always with mixed results. But I have to say hands down these folks have got it together on all levels. From the first phone call, to packing, loading, unloading and set up, Arial and his crew were total pros.

I went with Northstar based on the Yelp reviews. Now I’m glad to share the good word. No need to look anywhere else.
