Kevin and his assistant helped me move from Newport Beach to San Diego on April 21st. They were thorough and did an excellent job of carefully packing my 1 bedroom condo. Northstar may cost more than some of the other companies out there, but the real cost of moving is also what things break and have to be replaced. In this case brand new furniture and a lage plasma TV came out unscathed. After carefully looking at all of my things I could only find 2 very small and minor scratches. I am very particular and was impressed by that. These guys are professionals when it comes to moving. If that is what you want, they will serve you well. Moving is tough. These guys make it a lot easier. I would use them again with no hesitation. Good attitude, hardworking, knowledgeable about moving things, and careful.

This is my second time of using NorthStar and once again the experience is handsdown 5 stars.

NorthStar moved me down from San Fransico exactly one year ago. This time, I am leaving for a long vacation and searched for both mover+storage. I actually didn’t know NorthStar has storage, so I was researching other places and by accident found out that they do. And just like one year before, one simple call to NorthStar saved me tons of time. They easily beat competitors on price, service, convenience, and the clarity of explanation on cost.

On the moving day, — once again, star performance. The crew was on-time, courteous, efficient and overall very professional. I also got the chance to go to their storage place and acutally met the people who worked behind the scenes. And guess what, I was very surprised that everyone was so friendly and customer oriented, which further reinforced my belief that great culture and people make a great company. They seemed really enjoying working there. Their storage place is also nice and cool which cleared my last bit of dout whether my stuff will suvive the summer heat.

Again, I would recommend NorthStar to anyone who move in and around LA.

Just moved this weekend thanks to Northstar. I chose Northstar after reading all the good reviews on Yelp. They were right-on. Ran and his crew of three guys were awesome. My move from LA to Ventura Co took 4.5 hours from start to finish. That included two stops – one at my new place and one at my storage unit. Ran’s guy Angel was amazing . He fit everything into my storage unit despite my boyfriend’s insistance that I needed a larger unit. They saved, time, money, and a lot of backache.

I will definitely use them again next time I have to move. The cost was very reasonable. The guys are very honest, careful, and trustworthy.

Northstar includes 3 guys in your rate. Other movers only include 2 and charge almost the same rate (starving students). It was a very good deal.

They estimated an arrival time between 8 and 10am on Sunday. They were there by 7:45, which was fantastic.

I was able to book Northstar at the last minute – just 3 days before the move. No problems at all.

Northstar was very professional and courteous. Ran and staff did an excellent job unloading the furniture (1 bedroom set in under an hour and half). The delivery time line provided was anywhere from 1 – 5 days, and I was pleasantly surprised to receive delivery of my furniture on the 3rd day. That said, the weight of my 1 bedroom set didn’t include a refrigerator, couch, or kitchen table and the total weight was over 2,000 lbs. All in all, the customer service was top notch and I would definitely use their services again. Thank you

I have moved all over the place: Chicago to London back to Chicago back to London to Los Angeles and finally, most recently, back to Chicago again. I have had some terrible moving experiences so I was nervous about my latest cross country move. NorthStar was excellent! Every step of the process was easy and we communicated often. Although their quote was slightly higher than some other companies, they were willing to negotiate and had the highest (and well deserved) BBB ratings. The movers in LA were early and had my two bedroom apartment loaded within 2 hours. They packed my kitchen including all my dishes and crystal. Delivery was easy and the guys fabulous! Everything arrived perfectly (no breakage) within the delivery window that they confirmed. I received follow-up customer services calls after both pick-up and delivery. All the people involved with this move did an excellent job. I will absolutely use them again.

I called NorthStar on short notice for a move at the end of the month in Berkeley, CA. While all the other companies I called were busy, NorthStar was able to accommodate me. Even when I had to cancel at the last minute and then call back the next day to get the move appointment again, NorthStar was flexible and still had the slot to move my family.

Arranged to have my four-bedroom house moved to a new larger home. Moving company rep gave competitive quote. They were very responsive to all e-mail and phone inquiries.
Confirmed everything a few days before arriving.
They showed up on-time and started working immediately in fifth gear! These guys are FAST!
Since I was paying by the hour I was concerned about slacking and guys moving like slugs just to earn more money. That DID NOT happen with this crew. They were like a whirlwind in the house!
They were very respectful with my property – everything disassembled, wrapped in blankets and taped, and other items bubble wrapped (extra charge).
They drove to the second house as fast as we did and once there immediately got to work. No complaints or issues with the fact that they had to carry heavy furniture and appliances up two flights of stairs and through narrow doorways.
Except for a potted plant that was already cracked, nothing was broken, scratched, or damaged. Frankly, I was surprised, since I expected some ‘moving casualties’.

The move was complicated by the need for some items having to be stored – not only in your facility, but also in three different storage lockers at our Marina residence.

We experienced an extremely smooth moving day, with every request handled expertly and professionally by your staff, both in the packing as well as in the moving process.
We especially want to commend to you the Project Manager, Ron Cohen, who met with us and gave us complete confidence that your company would be the best for our move. In short, these guys rock. The move was easy to set up, we got a convenient time, and the CSR who handled the scheduling and transaction end of things got everthing right.

The best part, though, was the actual moving crew. Joel and his team arrived right on time, packed everything perfectly, were incredibly pleasant to deal with, patiently waited for me to figure out where I wanted things in the new place–all on the rainiest, stormy day of the year. My move from Santa Monica to Marina Del Rey is the shortest one I’ve done in the past twenty years. Still a move is a move and the only difference is the

The packing of the sofas, arm chairs, bed and other heavy furniture was done very quickly and I could tell that they would not be damaged during the move.

My name is Michael Klein and this e-mail is being sent to you with the express intention of telling what a wonderful job your company did on my move to Cypress of Friday last. It had all started with talking to a young lady by the name of Wendy Paola who was extremely professional and very pleasant and gave me all the particulars on your company and rates and what services you folks performed. After getting off the phone with her I then called a few other companies to get their information and rates and much to my surprise they didn’t even come close to you guys.

After calling a few more companies to compare services I then went ahead and booked my move and waited for the fateful day to arrive. This will be my 4th move in three years and I’m done! Around 9:00am my door bell rang and a man by the name of Junior came to the door to tell me that they were ready to go to work. This is when the orchestra began! Well let me tell you that these guys know their business! They wrapped everything carefully and padded everything that was critical and really took care of my things like it was their own property. The four men crew that moved us from San Juan Cpistrano to Seal Beach were outstanding. Kevin, our foreman was the best. Erick, Tamir and Gabriel rocked. They didn’t waste any time, they were on their feed, stacking our boxes in the truck, wrapping my furniture neatly with their blankets, packing up my books. They did a great job of loading the truck very carefully as to not waste any space, even my big garden planters fit on that truck along with my three bedroom house content. I was already mentally prepared to leave them behind… It was without doubt a job well done

Seeing a recent review of a moving company reminds me: I will never, never pack and move myself again. Ever.

I actually learned that lesson on a corporate relo, when my company moved me from Baltimore to Southern California in 2005. But, Northstar Moving reinforced that notion when I moved last year from Huntington Beach to Costa Mesa. Yeah – I know – it was like 3 miles. But I was living in a temporary place at the time, and that place was on the 2nd floor, and involved 5 flights of stairs. And, like any good East Coast girl, I have a lot of heavy crap including a full dining room set with china closet and place settings for 12. Did I want to pack and move that crap to my new house in Costa Mesa? No way.

Luckily – I found these guys. They showed up on time, with a crew of 5 guys, and packed, wrapped and moved everything out of my second floor walkup in less than 3 hours. The whole move, including a stop for lunch, was less than 5 hours, and everything was wrapped carefully, unwrapped and reassembled. No damage to TVs, crystal, china, or anything else. Not even a scratch.

Best yet? They came in under their original estimate. And that includes a boatload of boxes from them, because they packed a lot more of my stuff than I originally planned.

So, a little late review since this was in November of 2007, but still – I’d use these guys again in a heartbeat.

Totally awesome – we have a lot of stuff, including a lot of furniture, and Northstar’s three man crew handled it all quickly and carefully. We moved from a second floor apartment to a house, and I was really surprised at how deftly they moved everything out, including disassembling furniture when required (and reassembling at the new place).

I had a quote from Flat Rate that left out a lot of the stuff North Star ended up moving, and North Star’s total ended up coming in below the Flat Rate quote. It’s the only time I’ve used movers, and I’d happily use them again in a second.

Now that we are somewhat settled into our new office location, I wanted to take the time to thank you and your moving crew in writing for making our move over a weekend go as smoothly as possible.

Your crews arrived both Saturday and Sunday at the scheduled time and began working tirelessly both days until the job was complete. In addition to moving our office contents from point A to point B, the crews had to work around the installation of workstations, computers and telephones at the new location. This they coordinated beautifully with those other workers and made it appear to me that it was no problem at all. The job foreman made himself available, including giving me his cell phone number, at all times. Before they left the job on Sunday, they made sure items were placed where needed and gave me the opportunity to inspect the completed job.

However, the most notable aspect of the excellent service given was the fact that you made yourself available by phone the entire weekend. If I had any questions or concerns, I was able to reach you with a single call. There were no delays or telephone tag. When, at the last minute on Sunday, it looked as though items needing to be moved were inadvertently locked in the storage room by our former building management, without hesitation and without putting any burden on me at all, you told me not to worry, you would send a crew on Monday, the next day, to move those. items when the area could be unlocked. I particularly thank you for this very helpful attitude, since the burden of the move was on my shoulders.
