I was dreading my move as I have a one bed, but have lots of.. stuff – art pieces, guitars, books, collectibles… No way am I doing this! So after a quick search on Yelp it was obvious who’s the Pro of Movers were.. NorthStar!! And they did not appoint!
Alice and her team are all fabulous and they really went above and beyond with explaining me the whole process and schedule the move.. They were super busy at the end of the month, so luckily they found the time to move me! Yeyy..
Ana emailed me my confirmation and another email with Insurance options. The whole process was very detailed and really reassured me.
Had a Confirmation Call before the move, which was really cool cuz, of course, I had some last minute questions..
On the day of the move I got a text to track my truck (!!!) and a Courtesy Call from the driver to let me know what’s up.. Brandon was the Team Leader and he is such a sweetheart.. He did a walk through with me to see what’s what and then guided the team (3 guys). I’ve never seen such a thing – These guys were on top of things, definitely know what they are doing. Again, wow wow WOW!!
I hardly did anything, by the time I finished loading up my wardrobe boxes (FREE wardrobe boxes, are you kidding me??) they were pretty much done!!

This is our 4th move with Northstar and we are repeat customers for a reason. From booking to finish they are very professional and efficient and the movers have always been nice and polite. We’ve never had any complaints. This time Marlon, Caleb, and Rodolpho took good care of us and did not seem phased at all by the flights of stairs. The company is always in good communication with confirmations and calling to let us know ETAs.

We were moving from San Mateo, CA to Winter Park, FL – a big cross-country move from a 2B/2.5Ba townhome to a 3B/2.5Ba townhome (both two-stories) and were not-surprisingly nervous. We packed most of our items (minus furniture) ourselves, but needed help moving. We initially decided to go with NorthStar because of their competitive prices (though not the cheapest) and their great reviews online. We were not disappointed!
Michelle Valencia was the rep who helped us setup the move / get our quote and Julie Traurig was the rep who helped us track our move and confirm everything on the other side. Both were great and responsive!
Below is a timeline of our move (may be helpful for others moving cross-country):
Early December (2019): we called a bunch of places to get quotes. NorthStar setup a virtual appointment to review our place in order to give us their quote estimate – it was fast and easy to setup this virtual appt.
January 4th (2020): movers came right on time (8a) and the three guys worked incredibly fast and were very helpful and good at their jobs. We were nervous as we were flying out that evening, but the move out went without a hitch.
We needed our items shipped to FL by January 24th (as we were heading out of town that day for more than a week). We were very nervous about our items arriving in time, but Michelle and Julie assured us everything would work out – they were right!
January 20th (2020): movers arrived in Florida. A week prior, Julie let us know to expect the movers early the following week. We received a call the day before the movers arrived letting us know the movers would be coming early the next morning. Our three movers on the receiving end were just as good as those in California. They unpacked (and in some cases rebuilt) our furniture super fast and were very helpful in helping us setup our new place. Everything arrived in good condition – nothing was broken!
Initially NorthStar thought we would need a shuttle to unpack the truck in Florida and charged us extra for this. When the movers ultimately arrived and discovered a shuttle wasn’t necessary, NorthStar completely refunded the fee they’d initially charged! They were great about the whole experience.
Moving across the country is such a stressful experience, but NorthStar made everything smooth and (dare I say) easy. I really hope we never have to do another cross-country move, but if we did, we would book NorthStar again without hesitation. Cannot recommend this company enough. Thank you NorthStar!

Moving is never easy and always brings stress. That being said, the folks at Northstar made the experience as seamless as possible. Ron came out to do the estimate and was super organized and efficient. As for the guys who performed the move (Jorge, Reuben and Caesar) they are honestly the best crew I’ve ever dealt with — and I’ve moved quite a bit. From the moment they arrived, I felt at ease as I could tell they were experienced and knew what they were doing. They were on time, professional, courteous, very effective and displayed excellent customer service skills. They made sure all of my items were packed/wrapped properly and did a great job unloading/reassembling them, all while completing the process promptly. I can’t stress enough how impressed I was with these gentlemen; truly valuable assets to the company!

This is the third time I have used Northstar Movers for a house move. Every time I have found the team trusted and reliable. Today’s move started on time and in the window I had asked for. All 4 of the guys got to work immediately following the walk through of my home. Everything was securely wrapped and extra care was taken on some of the more valuable items which you’d expect but these guys took
additional care. Once we arrived to the new home we did a walk through and we explained where we wanted everything. The guys even had ideas for how things could work differently – we really appreciated their perspective. In the middle of the move we had to adjust some stuff but the guys were helpful and moved things around for us. Moving is not an easy task but these guys get this done with a positive attitude and a really strong team vibe. Will be calling them for my next move!

The guys did a great job. I moved from a studio office / loft downtown into a storage unit in Culver City and it went perfectly. I had a bunch of heavy tables and furniture, but also some expensive computers, TVs and artwork. It was all wrapped up safely and quickly. The best part was that they figured out how to fit my whole office into a 10×10 storage unit – I wasn’t sure it was possible. Highly recommend and I’ll use them again.
Austin and his crew did a great job getting everything moved to the new house. Friendly and easy to work with. They took exceptional care with everything even items I was not concerned with. They were very effecient and I am very pleased with the experience.
Josh and his crew were great. They worked fast and were fully professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. The head office workers were also easy to work with, with our last minute insurance changes for the HOA.
Randy’s crew just moved me from Redondo to RPV. My third move with NorthStar, and each time they’ve sent me a great crew. Randy’s crew lived up to my expectations! I have used NorthStar Movers for 3 of my 4 moves in Los Angeles, and the one time I didn’t was a huge mistake! Had a really good experience moving with NorthStar about 100 miles from Westlake Village to Laguna Niguel. Price was excellent. The packing and moving team was prompt, courteous, careful, and left both our departure and arrival homes clean. We had 20 years of accumulated stuff to box and everything came through fine. I wish everyone I dealt with was this professional and good! Wow. On time with all the right equipment and a smile on their face. Move in went amazingly fast. The best part was that when a problem came up they just solved it and kept on task. They also helped me assemble a tv stand for no additional fee and took caste if all my trash. If I could give 6 stars I would!

I am extremely satisfied with my experience with North Star Moving Company. Not only was this service affordable, fun, and enjoyable, but Brandon and Santos were able to move my belongings safely and in an extremely timely manner. I am high-maintenance when it comes to my clothes and furniture, and they were able to help me pack up everything safe and soundly and it all made it to my new place without a single scuff. Brandon and Santos were so fun to work with and Brandon was hilarious. It’s honestly nice to have some humor when you’re moving! This is the 2nd time I’ve used Robert’s crew for a move and they do an incredibly professional job every single time. They are fast, safe and take great care of my furniture & belongings. They are great at packing small delicate items and also move heavy furniture with ease. He came with a crew of 4 men. I can’t begin to explain how easy they made the day for me. I was so stressed & they had everything under control. They came on time, worked swiftly, had a great attitude and helped me problem solve.
