This is the second time we’ve used Northstar, and they always do an excellent job. This time we used them for both packing and moving services. They work extremely fast and do a great job of protecting fragile items. They also send 3 or 4 guys for apartment moves versus some companies that only send 2, so it goes much more efficiently. I highly recommend them and specifically our moving team of Randy Chicas, Anthony, Tanner, and Ricardo.

The company did an excellent job on my move from one part of the valley to another. All my furniture made it safe and sound to my new place. The guys were really friendly and easy to work with. The moving consultants were also easy to work with. I highly recommend them.

If you are looking for great, affordable movers–stop searching!!!!!! Jose and his team were amazing. They took great care of my things and made the whole process so easy. I’m waiting for my stuff and I’ll check in when that happens, but from someone who is really fussy about her stuff and spent a whole day searching for companies with good ratings that were fairly priced….you can stop now. It’s this company. They do things by weight, which means you can rest assured. Other companies do it by space, and that’s just a huge pain because you never know how much space it’s all going to take up and you have an incentive to pack perfectly. But, because this was by weight, I didn’t worry as much. Also, I’m pretty sure I spent waaayyyyy too much time packing–they came in with blankets and materials and wrapped all my furniture up. It was incredible. I felt super good about it all.
Seriously, guys, don’t be fooled by companies that bad mouth other companies or try to undercut. When I called NorthStar, I had gotten used to, by the end of the day, asking for a lower rate, and the sales associate was just like, “we don’t do that, everything is really standardized for us” (I’m paraphrasing). She was so professional (I felt like I was at Macy’s or something), and didn’t try to sell me anything. I checked their BBB rating (always do that!), and it’s like an A or A+ , then I looked closely at their Yelp ratings, and read a bunch of other stuff. Everything checked out. In the end, I’m paying a really solid rate for my stuff (I think it might end up being 1300-ish), which is lower than what all the other “bargain” companies were selling me…because, again, no gimmicks. They have a weight rate. They weighed my shit, then had an associated price with that weight. Simple. Ah, I love this company! Thank you so much!
EDIT: I wanted to add that I had an issue come up at the delivery. The deliverers were late, but I called the company to let them know. They did some investigations and were really honest about everything. I got some money back (as they had promised). I was really impressed by how straight forward and honest this company was. I believe that you can trust this company. The lateness was the only issue at delivery (it was due to the truck breaking down, which I imagine is rare). Alex and his partner were efficient and wonderful with my things, and I have no other complaints. This is a really great moving company.

There was a miscommunication between the movers and the people who scheduled the move but the movers figured it out efficiently and effectively. They were great. They listened to the specific requests we had and honored them, they worked hard, and they were very respectful and polite. The price was exactly what we had envisioned it was going to be. If you’re looking for effective movers that are totally fair with their pricing, I definitely suggest this company. We had a lot of heavy and expensive furniture that they took good care of. Very happy with this company!!

Having lived in the same house for 40 years, one can imagine how stressful that move could be, but from the moment Ivan G. and his crew Joshua G., Rafael and Jason showed up even a bit earlier than expected the move was smooth sailing. Those men worked their tails off but remained focused and very polite every step of the way. This in spite of the estimator not being as accurate with time as he could have been. The perfect combination of skills on that team got the job done. The team in the office was equally as professional and nice. Would highly recommend this company…

Jeremy, Junior and Carlos are the best movers I have ever worked with. My wife and I moved from directly on busy Fillmore Street in SF out to our first home in Oakland. The move had a ton of challenges between multiple flights of stairs, awkward furniture, unpacked items we ran our of boxes for, and…. Cats. They took it all in stride, moved all of our stuff out and into the new home within 3 hours and the pricing was way less than the actual value we got from them. All in all can’t recommend this second enough.
We just used Northstar for our move and they provided us with a great team. We had 4 guys, Darryl, Dion, CJ and Arturo – all of them were hardworking and great to work with. Moving is such a pain but these guys made the expense efficient and fun. I would highly recommend all of them for your next move. Happy packing!
