The San Fernando Valley Business Journal honored women of outstanding achievement in the San Fernando Valley area business community with their annual Women’s Council awards event held in Woodland Hills, CA on April 17, 2019. We are proud that NorthStar Moving Director of Marketing and Co-Founder Laura McHolm was among the nominees.

The Los Angeles Business Journal has published a list of Influential Family-Owned Businesses in Los Angeles. NorthStar Moving was honored to be included and profiled in this list.
NorthStar Moving was included the 2018 list of Largest Family Owned Businesses published by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. Companies were ranked by total number of employees.
The Los Angeles Business Journal and Best Companies Group Created the “Best Places to Work” in greater Los Angeles award twelve years ago. The survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Los Angeles, benefiting the county’s economy, workforce and businesses.
If Los Angeles County were a nation, its economy would be the 19th largest in the world. It is home to more than 244,000 businesses, with more minority and women-owned businesses than any other in the nation. Out of this remarkable number of Los Angeles businesses, 100 companies end up in the Best Places to Work list. NorthStar Moving was named one of the “Best Places to Work” in greater Los Angeles for the ninth consecutive year. It ranked an impressive #23 in the best medium sized company category.
The Better Business Bureau BBB Code of Business Practices represents standards for business accreditation by BBB. Businesses based in the United States and Canada that meet these standards and complete all application procedures will be accredited by BBB. The Code is built on the BBB Standards for Trust, eight principles that summarize important elements of creating and maintaining trust in business. This is our BBB accreditation certificate for August 2018 through July 2019.
The Los Angeles Business Journal publishes an annual Women in Business list. A women owned business is defined as a business with at least 50% women ownership. NorthStar Moving, Co-Founded by Laura McHolm and Ram Katalan, was ranked #59 in 2018.
The Women’s Council and Awards is a half day event in which the top business leaders in Los Angeles will share their wisdom through a series of Keynote speeches, dynamic panels, and workshops.
The 2018 event was held on June 22 in Los Angeles. Laura McHolm, Co-Founder and Director of Marketing of NorthStar Moving was a nominee in the Business Owner of the Year category.
The Women’s Council awards honor women who have made a difference throughout the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Conejo, and Antelope valley community.
This year’s event took place on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Woodland Hills, CA . The half day event was filled with inspiration, education and recognition. Laura McHolm, Co-Founder and Director of Marketing of NorthStar Moving was a nominee in the Business Owner of the Year category.

Inc. 5000 ranks the top 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States. Companies listed on the Inc. 5000 list are ranked according to a percentage of revenue growth over multiple years. Companies make the honor roll if they make the list five times or more. Fewer than ten percent of the Inc. 5000 honorees are listed for multiple years and earn the respected Inc. 5000 Honor Roll status. NorthStar Moving is proud to have been inducted into the Inc 5000 Hall of Fame.
As a condition of California Moving & Storage Association (CMSA) membership, each mover member must be licensed and agree to abide by the California Moving & Storage Association Code of Ethics promising to provide California moving consumers honest, legal, and efficient service.
NorthStar Moving was ranked #38 in the best medium sized company category in the 2017 “Best Places to Work” annual program, created by the Los Angeles Business Journal and Best Companies Group. When the San Fernando Valley Business Journal published its list of Top Female Entrepreneurs, Laura McHolm, Co-Founder and Director of Marketing of NorthStar Moving was ranked 8th, and an interview with her appeared on the cover of the issue dedicated to the list.
The Hunger Fighting Hero is awarded to organizations that host a successful event to fight hunger in their area. NorthStar Moving’s second annual “Let’s Send Hunger Packing” food drive in partnership with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage raised 8,109 pounds of food to feed hungry children in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The overwhelming volume of food collected and the awareness the company raised for hunger earned NorthStar Moving the award.
The 25th annual Women’s Summit & Awards event, celebrating great women leaders in the local business community was held by the Los Angeles Business Journal on June 23rd at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles. Laura McHolm, NorthStar Moving’s Co-Founder and Director of Marketing was a finalist. We are honored to have her among such distinguished company.
On January 30, during the 2017 International Franchise Association (IFA) Annual Convention, Ram Katalan, Co-Founder and CEO of NorthStar Moving was among the graduates of this year’s Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) program.
