Moved from downtown to one of the beach cities. Great service. Received a phone call a few days prior verifying my information then got a call when the movers were an hr ourt. Professional and friendly group of guys! Move was easy, seamless, and customer friendly. Definitely recommend anyone who want a friendly, simple, and professional moving experience to try this company. I’ve moved literally over a dozen times in 10 years and these guys were among the best.

My wife and I bought our first condo and we’re moving from the west tower to the east tower at 1 Daniel Burnham Court. We called East Star and couldn’t be happier with the work that Roger, Don, and Jesus put forth. They were very professional and took great care of all of our stuff. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone that is thinking about using a moving company to help with the transition into a new home. They even helped unpack and set up the furniture just as it was in the last condo we were renting. They made a stressful situation into a seamless relocation. 5 stars!!
I just had my single family home packed and moved from San Francisco to Oakland with NorthStar Moving and the crew from their San Mateo operation. I can strongly recommend them on the basis of my experience.
Here’s some details. I ordered a full service move for my house, which involved a day of packing and a day to load the truck and move. In the course of that process I worked with two different teams. The packers were ok, but not great. Courteous guys, but their “packing” job resulted in a lot of things that weren’t packed. Some drawers in the kitchen with stuff still in them. Some shelves with stuff still on it, the bed not taken apart, and despite my request for them to clearly label everything, many boxes unlabeled. I was pretty grumpy when I came back from some errands at the end of the day to see what state they’d left things in.
The next morning, the day of the move, another team showed up, and they were rock stars. They fixed everything that the first crew had left undone or done shoddily — labeled everything, packed the remaining items, etc. Then they proceeded to do an utterly fantastic job loading the truck, getting everything over to the new place, and putting everything in the right rooms. Attentive and responsive, always asking to make sure we were having a great experience. Roger and Cory and the crew were totally excellent, and tireless workers.
I will use NorthStar Moving again. Hopefully not for another 10 years, of course. But strongly recommended.

Good service. Very cool people! Showed up on time. Service with a smile. Vatche, Brandon, and Pablo got the job done. Picked up all the trash at the end. Even gave us a discount. They took off all the tape and shrink wrap charges. The service took awhile but they definitely did it. They were very nice and did a good job taping everything up.
They make a very good team together. The load ended up being more than they expected because of an issue at the office. Was not a problem for them. They still managed to fit everything in the truck. MASTERS AT TETRIS.

NorthStar took care of my stuff better than we did. Double wrapped, packaged with care, and out in no time. These guys were speedy and considerate! I highly recommend giving them a call during your search for professional movers — I know I’ll be calling them again in the future.
I needed to get out of my apartment, and quick. Dumpster fires, rabid homeless people, and the occasional drunken zombie. It was the apocalypse. So when I found the perfect apartment, I asked my friends if they could recommend a moving company. Northstar was mentioned a few times and they had availability for when I wanted to move.
Three guys were enough for my one bedroom apartment. They showed up at the beginning of the time window I was quoted and were ready to get started. The team lead, Anthony M. , was on top of it. A real professional. He told how long it was going to take and exactly how the move was going to go. The move went perfectly thanks to Anthony and Emanuel. They just left half an hour ago and I’m already in my new home and loving life. I highly recommend these moving commandos for moves big and small.

Haitham, Carlos, and Marvin moved us this morning and we were very happy with their service. Northstar was highly recommended by multiple of our friends and we will definitely recommend them and use them in the future. Haitham called me 45 minutes in advance, surveyed everything and was very considerate with his team. They were very careful with all of our belongings and the building. We were also working on a much tighter timeline than they estimated due to the rules at my building, but Haitham was very even keeled about it and was able to work with our building manager to stay within their (very strict) policy. They reassemble everything at your destination and clean up after themselves. I’ve used 6 different moving companies in my life and these guys are easily the best!
I’ve used NorthStar for both personal and business moves and I have been so impressed by their punctuality, professionalism and most importantly, the particular care in taking care of my things. The moving crew both times were super careful with packing and moving my furniture and personal effects. The move was completed in a timely manner without any loitering or waste in time, and completed early. Can’t appreciate enough how nice it is to feel like a moving company isn’t taking advantage of you when you’re at their mercy. Thank you so much NorthStar!
We used NorthStar a second time for a complicated move from the San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles. They were incredibly patient and helpful as we experienced numerous escrow delays and had to schedule and reschedule the movers again and again. The movers showed up promptly, handled everything with great care, and worked so efficiently and thoroughly. On top of that, they were super friendly and nice guys. I highly, highly recommend NorthStar – they are the only moving company we will be using in the future!
