Local Move
These guys are great ! Fast , friendly , not a lot of extra charges and trustworthy. $85 for 2 guys and $105 for 3 guys per hr. Worth every penny ! They moved my one bedroom twice for around $400 total. And I have lots of stuff.
I was a little suspicious of all the good reviews on Yelp, but bought a deal (the one on Angle’s list is better–if you’re a member, buy that one…) and tried them anyway. And wow–they were amazing. I have a piano, and lots of stairs on both ends of the move, so they sent four guys. The last time I moved with perhaps even less stuff, my move took about 6 hours. When they arrived, they had me sign an estimate that it was going to take 8 hours and cost over $1000. I was like “Holy #%$!! I should never have hired this company.”
I was also completely unprepared for this move, and had several things that weren’t packed, that I was planning to pack while they were moving the furniture. The move, however, was a whirlwind. Somehow they got everything packed away into wardrobe boxes and wherever, and seriously–my whole entire 2 bedroom apartment was out and in their truck in an hour and fifteen minutes. Insane. I was out of breathe just from watching.
At my new place, I’d just had it carpeted with white carpeting. They covered it carefully with plastic tape and got everything in quickly. Entire moved happened in about 4 hours. I couldn’t believe it. And it was 1/2 the price of my last move. And, unlike my last move, nothing got broken or dinged (at least not that I’ve found yet). I would definitely hire these guys again.

After researching many different moving companies, I decided to go with NorthStar and I am so glad I did. With the Yelp deal, it is much cheaper than the other moving companies, so save yourself some time and just book with them! Also, the movers are really friendly and efficient, making the whole process very smooth.

We called them in last minute to move our family run business when it became clear that the original (and landlord recommended) moving company (American Relocation & Logistics) was WAY over charging us.
Fortunately for us, Northstar gave us a fair estimate AND got it done in half the time and for HALF the price the other company quoted.

First time moving within the city (San Francisco), and completely amazed with how quick, efficient, careful, and friendly the moving crew was! Plus, I really appreciate that they reuse things like wardrobe boxes – that way, you can hang up your clothing and coats, and place any loose items on the bottom, without having to pay for additional moving boxes. Wonderful service, and I strongly recommend their services for any local or long distance move!
NorthStar did a great job with our recent move. We were the last move of the day, so I worried that the movers might be wiped out. But they were on it. Very professional. I was most impressed by the back office, both when I called to book and when they called me to follow up and see how the move went. I will use them again and recommend them to my friends.
