My move was on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011. A steady rain was falling. The two guys and the truck arrived right on time, immediately assessed the move and got to work. They had a great attitude. They worked together perfectly and were friendly and professional. I absolutely give them 5 stars, “as good as it gets.” They took excellent care of my furniture and were happy to put things where I wanted them. They cleaned up after themselves and completed the move in a timely manner. I hope I don’t have to move again anytime soon, but I would definitely call Northstar if/when I do have to move again.

I was the Sales Manager and a Developer Sales and Marketing Consultant for the new high-rise condominium buildings in Marina del Rey all three consisted of 812 total units. I needed to have an experienced Moving Company that would ensure the safe movement of furnishings to and from the buildings especially with many of the properties fetching over $1M in sale value and possessing homeowners with big demands. In addition, the Home Owner’s Associations have demanding requirements for time of operation and use of the elevators in addition to strict insurance requirements. Northstar Moving, from day one over 10 years ago, stood out among all the other movers as Number 1! Their reputation was so great that when they finished the 3rd and last building, the developer insisted on having Northstar Movers as the Preferred Movers for the Developer was under a great deal of scrutiny and had a very demanding schedule for moving owners of almost 100 units into the building in just over a couple months….they needed an efficient and thorough company that also consistently moved homeowners safely and with almost zero flaws….Northstar answered their demands with flying colors! I will always recommend Northstar with an Exceptional rating.

I recently moved with NorthStar Moving Corp and had an excellent experience. Most aspects where I had struggled with previous movers were such a breeze with Northstar…I didn’t know this was possible. Right from scheduling to initial estimation visit, Ron Cohen was a pleasure to work with, very honest and up front. When our closing date was delayed at the lenders’ end, Ron even helped reschedule the moving date to a couple days later at our desired times at no extra charge!
The moving crew, headed by Nick, arrived right on time and ready to move. We had chosen a ‘full service’ move which included both packing and moving…the crew was extremely adept at packing items quickly and appropriately. The icing on the cake was that the crew finished much earlier than the initial estimates…and at a cost of $100 below the initial cost estimate!! Unheard of…
In retrospect, though, if I have to point out any minor improvement areas (yes, they were great, but can be better!), one, they can arrive with better and sufficient boxes (they almost ran out at the end and had to adjust) and two, may be take a couple extra seconds to label boxes better so unpacking is easier. Overall though, I would definitely use NorthStar again for my moving needs in the future…good job!
moving should always be as easy as this. our move date moved more times than i can remember, and ron cohen was as cheerful and accommodating as the time he gave us our original estimate. and btw – they guys did such a quick job on moving day, that the actual cost came in about 35% LESS than the estimate. these guys are honest, work hard, and were a pleasure to deal with. thank you northstar!
I have used Northstar Moving Corp many times to move my business and my home. We even used Northstar to move my mother-in-law, who was very concerned about her “stuff!” Needless to say her belongings were moved without the slightest scratch.
I am consistently impressed with the “over-the-top” excellent service that I have always received by the office staff and the guys that actually do the moving. They always seem to treat me as if I were their most important customer, and they handle my stuff as if it were their own. In particular, Gadi. I have always said that I wish Gadi ran other companies because I would continue to be a devoted customer no matter what business venture he took on.
It is very refreshing in this day and age to see a company that is so excellent at what they do, and so concerned and committed to needs of their customers. I highly recommend Northstar for any moving needs.
I used NorthStar moving last month for a very rushed, stressful move. A huge wave of stress was released after I consulted with Ron Cohen. The movers were efficient, accommodating, and pleasant. The “cannot exceed” price was fair, and the final cost was far less than expected.
This is my third move in Los Angeles (well fourth if you count the one I did for a friend). I used different movers every time. After this experience I’ll never look for other movers again. NorthStar is the way to go! Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!
Love these movers. We called with very little notice. Barak came out in very short order, made an estimate, and scheduled the move. He was terrific.
NorthStar packed us one day and moved us the next. We had a guy named Jesus as our lead guy on the job, and he couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. Everything was done to the highest standards – wrapped with care and moved/lifted with respect for both the contents and our house (no scratches on the walls, etc.).

With a local move, not many companies send a representative to give in-home estimates so off the bat, I was impressed that they did this. He went over the entire estimate point by point, thereby eliminating any worry about the “fine print”. He also guaranteed that the actual cost would not exceed the estimate, which was great considering this is where other movers tend to screw you over.
The day of the move I was blown away by the crew of workmen. They arrived at 8:00 on the dot (window was between 8:00 and 9:00) and they got right to work. I was so impressed by their speed and efficiency. Though they worked fast, they still handled all of my furniture with care.
Not one item was broken or damaged in the move. They re-assembled my son’s crib and bedroom furniture and any other items that had been disassembled at the house we moved from.
From beginning to end I was 100% satisfied with Northstar and with Ilan. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I will use them again for any future move.

Moved from Long Beach to Huntington Beach – did my homework, checked out ratings on BBB, read reviews on Yelp, got 3 companies to come out and give an onsite written estimate, reviewed all 3 very carefully – not just for price or contract details, but more to see how accurate and realistic the estimate was for the number of boxes I would most likely to move, etc. I chose NorthStar and I am very, very happy that I did!!!
Ron came out and did a very careful and realistic estimate, was good on the pricing (remember it is not always how far you move, but how much you have to move – and I had pleanty of stuff, including a lot of 1930’s Art Deco Furniture).
They did not require a down payment, gave me a “not-to-exceed’ price and called to follow-up and confirm the move. Oh, and none of this pay-us before-we-unload-your-furnture malarky, that some companies do. I paid when everything was done and I was satisfied. Sounds good so far, but wait.
The day of the move they showed up an hour early (great for me), and my movers (Eliseo, Carrillo and the “new guy” that had just started with them) were WONDERFUL. I can not say enough about how hard working, fast and careful they were. They never took a break, were pleasant, professional and did not break, scratch or lose anything. They finished two hours sooner then estimated, saving me money. Now mind you, I am a damn good packer, everybox was packed, labled and stacked ready to go (they were impressed), but the rest was on them. They moved my fragil vintage furniture with care, wrapping everything, breakingdown my platform bed (and reassembling it at the new place), taking good care of my two flat screens, glass table tops and shelvings. Plus at the new place, there was brand new carpet and without even being asked they rolled the dolly only as far as the tile entry and then unloaded it by hand so that they wouldn’t get the carpet messed up.
Really, great experience, Thanks to all of the Northstar team: Ron, Eliseo, Carrillo and “the New Guy”. While I hope I don’t move again any time soon, I will definitly call them when I do.
I don’t usually write comments but after the service I received from Northstar Moving it was a must. Northstar and especially Gadi were and absolute pleasure to work with. They showed up on time and were very professional and attentive to detail. When Gadi and his crew arrived they immediately went to work on moving our belongings. At the same time they took care of our personal belongings as if it was their own. If you are moving and need reliable movers this is the only place you will need to call. I thought that it would take hours to move our apartment. I was amazed on how fast they got everything to their moving truck and on the way to our new apartment. Once they got to our new apartment they were very kind and asked where we wanted everything to be placed. This was the easiest move I have ever had to do. Well thanks to Gadi that is. If I ever move again I know exactly who to call and get the job done right.

Damn moving sucks. Moving sucks even more in the rain. Yes I picked the worst day of the YEAR to move, just my luck. But I’m so happy it’s over, and I have to give props to the young, tres amigos from this moving company, as well as Samantha from the management office. Professional, courteous, respectful, speedy, helpful, etc. they were great and I can’t think of how it could have been any better.
Tip: mention yelp and get 5% off. pay cash and save an additional 3%.

I’ve called several moving companies and considered many other shipping options but Northstar was the best for my cross country move (Los Angeles to Suburbs of Philly, PA). The customer service was most patient and sincere (John S.) was awesome and very reassuring even with my many questions and concerns.
The movers came on time as they promised and everything was very quick…they estimated the weight 800 lbs+ but was happy to see that it was much less and came out to what I had expected. The delivery was shockingly quick and came as the driver as promised-exactly on time! And 6 total days for a cross country move is amazing! Only thing that I wished was improved upon is handling boxes marked “fragile” with more care…other than that – everything was perfect.
After having just moved 9 months earlier with a ‘cheapie’ moving company that cost me a lot of stress, I found North Star on YELP! yeah.
Jason in the office took my info and followed up 2 days before the move. They fit me in for a morning move which was great and the crew arrived right on time Sunday morning 8:15 am with 3 men. Clean and courteous. Eliseo was the forman and kept things moving, and the 2 Julios, driver and crew members.
It was a holiday weekend so timing was tight but I’m glad I used North Star and will definitely use them again. However I do not plan on moving again any time soon!!!

I am writing this letter to express my gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful and professional service that we received from every employee at your company that assisted us with our very large and complicated office space reduction move.
It all began when I called your company several weeks ago to see if someone could come out and give us a quote for the project and that is when I met Ilan Dahan. I was so very impressed with his professional behavior and knowledge for what our needs were and he really seemed to care about what our organization was about and showed compassion for our mission. Compared to the other moving companies that we received bids from, llan took the time to visit us yet again and do an even more thorough walk through of our entire office to ensure that nothing was overlooked. Myself and my direct supervisor were even further impressed when we received the detailed quote which listed absolutely everything! It really showed us what your company was all about. When I spoke to you and llan over the phone, you both showed so much compassion and were so dedicated to helping us that I knew we had to use you for our project. It wasn’t just about saving money – it was about really making that connection and knowing that you weren’t just going to come and “move” our stuff around but really take the time to listen and help us with what we needed.
When the project started, myself and my department were so nervous because we knew the magnitude of this project and didn’t really know what to expect, but as soon as we met Nick and his crew, we were almost immediately at ease. They were all such a pleasure to work with and although we had them move some things around a couple of times, they never complained, not once. They were all so nice about everything and not to mention fast llan mentioned that they were fast but this was just ridiculously fast, which I completely appreciated.
I just wanted to take a few minutes of your time to once again express my gratitude and appreciation and to thank you for understanding that we are a not-for-profit organization that needs every penny we raise to offer free programs and services to cancer patients and their families. After using NorthStar for the first time on 10/30/10, I did not hesitate to use them again – believe it or not – 2 weeks later.

11 days after my daughter was in her new place, (a condo she was renting), an overhead pipe burst, spraying hot water, for an hour, into, and flooding her unit with a couple inches of water. (Long story short: someone who should not have been doing repairs on her central air – who was hired by the owner – screwed up and hit a pipe which had been poorly repaired previously) Anyway….she had to move, again. And unfortunately, she lost some of her belongings, lots of books, some wooden furniture, a couple of floor mats that floated away…..
She found an apartment available “immediately” nearby, I flew out, from Chicago to LA, again. We were able to get her packed up, moved and unpacked in 4 days.
I called Jason at NorthStar on Mon. 11/ 15 told him briefly what happened, and scheduled a move for Wed. 11/17. We were all set.
Then Tuesday, I emailed him, and asked him if there was anyway, or anyone who could find it in their heart, to give me some sort of discount since I had just used them, and I had the unexpected expense of flying back out to LA for move #2. Jason was able to plead my case to his manager, and reduce the hourly rate. So thank you to Jason, and your manager. I appreciated that.
Also, once again, I want to say thanks to Jesus Mezal, and his crew, Benjamin and Ozzy. I had the pleasure of having Jesus and Ozzy for the first move. Let me tell you, when I saw that they had sent Jesus for this move, I had to laugh. but I was also thrilled because I knew this move would be just as efficient as the first. As stressful as this move was, it helped to have Jesus there running the show, again, with a smile on his face the entire time.

Moving is a pain, trust me. But North star really helped us at every step. I moved from LA to Charlotte,NC. There were other movers who would move for cheaper price but North star was worth every penny infact more. It was Peaceful and simple. Customer support was great. The way Kat Alexander and Gil Ben Haroch helped us, it was pretty impressive. As this was my first move, I was tensed and nervous, but these two guys helped us so much. Thanks Guys, you rock.

I called a few places before calling North Star, and the people where mean and really didn’t want to help. Once I called North Star, they where great. If you get a change Kat Alexander at the moving company, was great, helped me out with everything. I really didn’t know what I was doing but she was there to help me out. Then I needed to change the date and Jason Orosco took care of me in a min. Great work team. Then on moving day the guys came and packed it up so quickly. They where amazing, I know I couldn’t of done it with out them. Once we got to are new place they starting unloading the truck, and putting the beds together and helping me placing everything where it should be. I had no problem unpacking our stuff. I am telling all of my friends and family about North Star, great team, great work, and great company all around.

I moved two times in the past five months, and Northstar has made both moves go much more smoothly than I expected. We were dealing with the contents of a (very full) three-bedroom home and LOTS of kids’ toys and junk. The moving crew arrived on-time and were very courteous and professional. They scooped up everything (neatly, of course), packed them on the truck, and unloaded at the destination without missing a beat.
Everyone that I met or spoke to– from the first phone call, to the person who came to our home to give an estimate, to the movers– was very pleasant and helpful.
Although I didn’t do much comparison shopping, I think the pricing is competitive. Someone came out to our home to give a not-to-exceed price. I had another moving company come out to give an estimate the next day, and they quoted me a higher price than Northstar (and it wasn’t a not-to-exceed, which means it could have been even higher after the actual move)! Naturally, I went with Northstar.
For both moves, they finished the jobs in shorter time than estimated!
If friends and family asked me for moving company recommendations, I would tell them Northstar.
Northstar sent four men with one van for my move. They arrived on time at 8:30a.m. and worked very hard until about 7 p.m. with only one short break for coffee and then another for a late lunch that I went and got for them, because they wanted to keep working. Everything was packed or wrapped carefully and arrived in good condition. The price was very reasonable, and less than half the original quote, which happened because I was able to move the goods into my new house 5 miles away the same day I moved out of the old one, instead of having to put everything in storage as I had expected to do.
