I was given an arrival time of 8am-10am on a SATURDAY at the END of the month which is prime time in the summer. The crew, with Joel and his three guys arrived at 8:08 with a pleasant, reassuring manner and these guys got to work and didn’t stop until we were done. All I had to do was kind of supervise, I carried a couple of the boxes myself, and at the end of the load I locked the storage unit with my own lock and kept the key. All the paperwork and the payment were taken on the spot at my house. I couldn’t be happier, it truly was the most convenient storage experience I ever had.
They expertly wrapped up our furniture and our LCD TV with the utmost care and detail. As a result, there were no broken items and above all, no drama.

My wife and I moved from our apartment to a condominium on the last Sunday in April. After reading the mainly positive reviews about NorthStar and comparing them to other moving companies, we decided to contact them. From beginning to end, their customer service was very good (and that’s coming from a Human Resources Professional). I spoke with Donna and made all the arrangements regarding our move. Donna was very pleasant and patient as I confirmed things with my wife. She even offered to give us a small discount on the price when I mentioned where we heard about the company. The e-mail confirmation was prompt and easy-to-follow with all the special arrangements (including the discount) highlighted for reference.
On the day before the move, David called me to confirm what time the movers would arrive and all the particulars.
On the day of the move, the movers were scheduled to arrive between 8 and 10am. They pulled up at 8:30am. Joel and his crew came in and went over the particulars with me on the invoice and answered my immediate questions. Even though my wife and I had packed many of our smaller belongings already, I was impressed at Joel’s efficiency. They were finished loading the truck in less than 2 hours. When we arrived at the condo, they went right to work unloading boxes and furniture, always with a pleasant attitude and accommodating our requests to put things in certain places. After everything was unloaded, they finished in just under 5 hours and Joel went over all the calculations of the time and products used.
My wife and I were incredibly pleased from beginning to end with the service we were provided. No possessions were damaged, the demeanor of Donna, David, and Joel and his crew was great, and we got exactly what we were told we would get. I was more than happy to write this review and would recommend NorthStar in the future. I would just remind people that moving can be a complex task and it’s very important to go over every particular with the company beforehand in order to minimize the surprises, maximize the peace of mind, and come away with as pleasant of an experience as possible.
On the receiving end, the crew took note of recently installed hardwood floors, and w/ out me making a big deal about it, they took great pains not to scratch or damage the new surface.
I had one heavy piece that was a particular challenge to place. They cheerfully worked w/ me to place the item in a tricky spot, never forgetting to mind the floor.
The unexpected level of professionalism and cooperation made the whole deal a very positive experience and I would not hesitate to use their services again.
They wrapped and taped all the furniture, and took great care with our breakables. Computers, monitors, and the 52-inch flat screen TV were all wrapped and taped – they even built a little cardboard crate for the TV.
We were a little nervous about getting dings on our newly painted walls, but there is not a mark. They even moved a Cal King bed up a wrap-around staircase without getting a mark on the walls.
With both moves they were done in 5 hours or less. I would definitely use NorthStar again, and ask for Omar!
Oscar, the foreman assigned to my move, last Friday, was very kind, polite, and the most helpful person. He and his team were easy to direct and very efficient and knowledgable. Nothing was damaged or lost – as usual! I highly recommend NorthStar to everyone!
Joel and his team were WONDERFUL!! They were fast, careful, and very professional. They packed everything good and nothing broke. Everything that they took apart, they put back together. They placed the furniture exactly where I asked them to. This is the second time I’ve used Northstar and I will use them again if I ever move again.

NorthStar moved me down from San Fransico exactly one year ago. This time, I am leaving for a long vacation and searched for both mover+storage. I actually didn’t know NorthStar has storage, so I was researching other places and by accident found out that they do. And just like one year before, one simple call to NorthStar saved me tons of time. They easily beat competitors on price, service, convenience, and the clarity of explanation on cost.
On the moving day, — once again, star performance. The crew was on-time, courteous, efficient and overall very professional. I also got the chance to go to their storage place and acutally met the people who worked behind the scenes. And guess what, I was very surprised that everyone was so friendly and customer oriented, which further reinforced my belief that great culture and people make a great company. They seemed really enjoying working there. Their storage place is also nice and cool which cleared my last bit of dout whether my stuff will suvive the summer heat.
Again, I would recommend NorthStar to anyone who move in and around LA.

Northstar includes 3 guys in your rate. Other movers only include 2 and charge almost the same rate (starving students). It was a very good deal.

The team was courteous, efficient, and careful with our fragile pieces. Arranged to have my four-bedroom house moved to a new larger home. Moving company rep gave competitive quote. They were very responsive to all e-mail and phone inquiries.

Since I was paying by the hour I was concerned about slacking and guys moving like slugs just to earn more money. That DID NOT happen with this crew. They were like a whirlwind in the house!
They were very respectful with my property – everything disassembled, wrapped in blankets and taped, and other items bubble wrapped (extra charge).
They drove to the second house as fast as we did and once there immediately got to work. No complaints or issues with the fact that they had to carry heavy furniture and appliances up two flights of stairs and through narrow doorways.
Except for a potted plant that was already cracked, nothing was broken, scratched, or damaged. Frankly, I was surprised, since I expected some ‘moving casualties’.

The best part, though, was the actual moving crew. Joel and his team arrived right on time, packed everything perfectly, were incredibly pleasant to deal with, patiently waited for me to figure out where I wanted things in the new place–all on the rainiest, stormy day of the year. Nothing broken, nothing lost–I would use them again and recommend them to friends and specifically ask for Joel and his guys to do the move.

The initial enquiry was done very professionally, they showed that they were interested in my business. Ben came over to do the onsite estimate and provided

The moving crew was headed by Ran Ovadia and assisted by Anvel Lopez and Agustin. They moved in a very coordinated fashion.
The packing of the sofas, arm chairs, bed and other heavy furniture was done very quickly and I could tell that they would not be damaged during the move.
It was all go from the get go, they did not stop! During the move in all items came and got unpacked in record time, the best I’ve seen with all my moves.
