Just moved about a month ago. Everything I needed and look for in a moving company was provided at a very reasonable cost. Friendly, punctual, efficient, careful and considerate. I highly recommend them and would use them again if (gulp) I had to move anytime soon.

THEY ARE AMAZING!!! Every person I dealt with – receptionist, dude who did the estimate, movers, claims manager – has been nothing but nice and professional. I hate moving but they made it so easy for me. The guy who did our estimate, Gil, was on time. He gave us an estimate and , lo and behold, come moving day, that was exactly what we paid. NO HIDDEN FEES! Can you believe that?! Kudos to the movers too. They were efficient and did a pretty good job packing our stuff.
Over all, everything went so well. Just had one minor gaffe but the claims department (Wendy) has been so accommodating and just extremely super.

I moved with NorthStar this summer and interviewed about four other companies before settling on them. They came in with a fair price–much lower than one of the companies–but reasonable. When it came to how they handled the move–as well as the move itself–they were amazing–especially on the front end of the move and, especially, when there were some small complications on the backend.
First off, they know what they’re doing. Almost all of my stuff got across the country in one piece–and I truly believe no moves can be perfect. But more than that, the service was impeccable. I mean really impeccable. I had to put a claim in as some walls got damaged by my bigger pieces on a small staircase. They approved it on the spot. No stress. I had to file the paper work–which was easy in itself. But I had just moved–so my printer wasn’t hooked up and my office staff had some crisis and it was hard to keep all the balls in the air. So they mailed me a self-addressed envelope. Then I just got busy on a new job and filing this wasn’t on the top of my agenda. But though I was the one making the claim–that is, they were going to cut me a check–they called me once a week to remind me to get it in. I’ve never seen anything like it. The service was beyond professional, beyond courteous, beyond helpful. I couldn’t have better things to say. I hope I never move again–but if I do, I would pick up the phone to call Northstar in a heartbeat.
My husband and I used North Star for our move from Hollywood to West LA. These guys were great. They were a half an hour early and really were pros. George the foreman was fantastic. He and his crew not only packed up all the boxes and furniture we had ready to go but George also packed up all the dishes in my kitchen that we didn’t manage to get to. And the unloading was done in a flash. They were so friendly and professional, I would recommend North Star to anybody. This was a really quick and unexpected move we had to make and having a great moving service took away so much of the stress. Thank you, North Star!!
I was very pleased with the quality of service of my move with Northstar. I called them on a whim when I got transferred to California to Florida and they had someone there within 24 hours to give me an estimate and my things arrived in Florida a week later. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Also, their quote was almost 1/3 less than anything else I received. This was my second move across the country in the past two years and my items were handled with care and communication was excellent between North Star and and the truck driver. I would highly recommend Northstar to anyone looking for a mover, whether local or across the country.
Northstar Moving recently moved us from a house we had been in for roughly 30 years. Needless to say, we had a lot of things to move. The Northstar movers arrived on time, and they were courteous, polite and professional. They handled our belongings with care and when we got to the new house, they went the extra mile to make sure that everything was where we wanted it to be. Our experience with Northstar Moving was completely positive, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team work harder. These guys knew what to do and kept moving from the moment they arrived at the old house until all was unloaded and placed exactly where we wanted at the new house. They even offered some very good suggestions along the way. They made what could have been a very stressful day very easy for my family and I. My deepest graittude to Northstart Moving!

I called several moving companies before choosing NorthStar for our big move. Most companies wouldn’t give us a firm estimate and I didn’t want an end of moving $$ surprise.
NorthStar actually came out, reviewed our furniture and needs for moving and gave us a quote on the spot. The truck arrived on time and the staff were clean, friendly and worked hard. They moved all our furniture into the new home, assembled our furniture and cleaned up all the packing materials before leaving. Very happy with them and would recommend them highly. Oh and I thought the price was very fair 🙂
Absolutely wonderful! They moved our 5500 square foot home from Agoura to Ojai. We have many high-end items as well as extremely heavy and large items and all were wrapped and treated with kit gloves by Nick and his crew. From the initial contact with Barak Cohen who came out and gave a detailed estimate to the wonderful, pleasant, professional and thoughtful Nick and his moving crew, I couldn’t have asked for a smoother move (which took place over 2 days).

I just moved from the beautiful west side which has been my home for most of my life to the canyons in the north valley! While it’s not exactly a cross country move, it certainly had it’s challenges and stresses. But then I called NorthStar and at least they took a huge load off of our shoulders! I heard about NorthStar through a really great deal that I found on Angie’s List, so I gave them a call to get some details and get everything set up. The lady on the phone asked some questions to get an idea of what type of move this would be and gave us a pretty accurate estimate of what everything would end up costing.
Everything with the actual move from point A to point B went really great and smooth thanks to NorthStar. On the day of the move, three guys showed up on time and were quick and efficient in getting everything moved out of our apartment and onto the truck. I was very pleased with how carefully they packed away out fragile items and our furniture to ensure that they would not get damaged.
What I especially liked about their service was that they did not charge us for the use of furniture pads, or wardrobe boxes and came with plenty in tow to accommodate all of our belongings. The only things that we got charged for were non-reuseable items such as packing tape and plastic wrap that was used to secure furni-pads and keep your belongings safe, and the prices for those were totally reasonable.
Once they arrived at our home, we bought some pizza as a thank you for all of their hard work so far and they took a quick little lunch break to eat before starting the unloading process. The three guys definitely had their work cut out for them when they were unloading everything into our new home because there were quite a lot of stairs to climb, but all three of them were real troopers and were able to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time (which had been the estimated time frame that the lady on the phone had predicted).
I hope that i won’t be moving anytime soon, but if I ever do, I will definitely keep NorthStar in mind, and have already recommended it to some other friends and family that might be moving in the near future.
