I just finished my move from Los Angeles with NorthStar Moving a couple of days ago, and I had to share my experience. I have a few times moved before, and this is by far the best movers I have ever used. The person from the office was very helpful and knowledgeable, and it was very clear that my best interest was his first priority. After going over all the information with me, he sent me an email confirming all that we spoke of, and I was able to reserve the date of my choice. The movers that showed up (Tony and his crew) were amazing. They not only were professional movers, but they also were nice and kind. They smiled when they showed up and were personable the whole move, and anything that I asked from them was done with a ‘no problem’. They were even kind of funny with each other, and really fun to watch working. They even gave me a number for a company that helped me with some other parts of the move and my storage, which was also great, and I will post a review about them as well. Overall these guys are the best movers I have ever used, and everyone that I dealt with were personable and professional. It is very rear to deal with a company that is so focused on customer service and is so good at what they do. I will never use another moving company again, that’s for sure.

Cross-country move: LA, CA to Austin, TX. Northstar is a superb company that has gone above and beyond our expectations every step of the way. We will definitely be using them for our next move. They were prompt on their arrival, quick in packing, and extremely careful – treating each piece of furniture as if it were their own. They worked with us on the price, stored our belongings while we found a new place at no additional charge (up to a month), and they were just as great at unpacking our things. (Also, when they first arrived we hadn’t finished packing, but they packed the additional items at no extra charge! I couldn’t believe it!) After our move they called us to make sure that everything was as it should be. I mentioned that one of our floor lamps had a cracked bass and they offered to replace it. Awesome! I wouldn’t even have called them about it because I figured one busted lamp is pretty good for a cross-country move. Well worth the money. They pride themselves on their reputation. You can trust this company with your next move.

I’ve used a few moving companies and these guys are the best. I was hesitant about using for long distance as it seems most of the best reviews were for local moves. Corporate office was very helpful in setting things up and answering questions. Don’t have to wait on hold or talking to a computer for ever. The price ended up being cheaper than quoted even though I thought it was going to be more expensive. The guys who came to move were awesome! 7 guys came and they were fast and efficient. They all moved around doing things synchronously with even talking to each other much. They were a well oiled machine. It still took 6 hours to pack up my house…. that’s how much crap I had. All our stuff was already in boxes too. Don’t use their boxes. Way too expensive. I ended up using 1 or 2 just because they needed more and I didn’t want to drive to home depot. The delivery time window was pretty on. They were a little late because of someone didn’t show up to pick up on the prior delivery. The guys who unloaded were not very good. Because it’s a long distance move they hire some local guys. There were 3 of them. I could tell a huge difference between those who packed and loaded my house and these three “freelancers.” It was like night and day. It was quite obvious they didn’t know what they were doing very well. One guy was straight out lazy…. Hopefully they find some more reliable people on long distance. if you have a small load the truck driver will probably do it himself. When we finally finished unwrapping things there were 2 minor things damaged. Corporate followed up to make sure things went smoothly. I told them about the 3 “freelancers” and the 2 damaged articles. They promptly went above and beyond what they were liable for and more than made up for it with their awesome customer service. They even put value on my time and inconvenience. As I mentioned above, it wasn’t completely perfect, but they value you as a customer and also understand that your time is valuable and worth something. I feel their customer service is above and beyond anything else out there and that is why I’m giving them 5 stars.

Having moved several times in the last few years, I am quite familiar with unpleasant moving experiences…this was not one of them. North Star took great care of my belongings, and even more, they provided excellent customer service. Someone always answered when I called, they return phone calls, and they do what they say they will do. I was most impressed by the care they took to ensure a broken item was satisfactorily taken care of. Customer service representatives called regularly to inquire about the status of the claim and I was promptly sent reimbursement for the cost of the repair. I highly recommend this company for hassle-free moving (who knew that even existed?!).

I am thankful that NorthStar made my move easy and fast. The three-man crew were friendly, helpful, and worth every penny. From the beginning of the process to the final payment, I have never been as satisfied with any company as I have with NorthStar. Go with them if you are thinking of using a moving company.

These guys were great. I was lucky enough to be able to schedule a move time with them with only 3 days notice. The told me they would be there anytime between 12pm and 6pm, but they would call me an hour before they came, which was really awesome. They ended up coming at 12 pm on the dot and got me fully moved into my new studio by 2pm. They were great, so fast and efficient! There were no extra fees and they took care of my stuff! I will definitely use them the next time I move! Thanks NorthStar Moving!

This company could not have given me better service from start til finish. they came to give me a quote (on a Staurday at my convenience – even showed up on time) and actually moved me the next day. The estimate was more than fair ( best price i was quoted out of 2 other companies) and they were fast and efficient and careful with all of my stuff. as my kids got in their way and tried to tell them 4 different places to put one piece of furniture, they were patient and patient and patient. i received a firm/set/not-to-exceed price and there were NO HIDDEN costs and they even let me use their boxes for free – the ONLY NEGATIVE…..I can’t use them as often as I’d like …TELL EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Northstar moved me for the 3rd time last week, and these guys are fantastic! Moving is always a stressful experience, and Gadi is reassuring and confidence-inspiring throughout the process. I think their prices are extremely fair, especially considering how efficient and hardworking their moving crews are. And each time they’ve come in below their estimate. I have a ton of fragile and expensive electronic and film equipment, and Northstar has never damaged a thing. They take great care in packing everything securely, wrapping every piece of furniture, and making sure all boxes are protected with plenty of packing material. The move took two days (one for packing, one for the actual move), and the same crew of 4 guys worked both days. They were efficient, hard-working, and careful throughout the process. Unlike other moving companies I’ve used, the guys from Northstar are highly experienced, and I felt like I was in great hands all the way. The move went smooth as silk, and to top it off, Gadi is sending a truck over to pick up all the empty boxes left over from unpacking! I can’t recommend Northstar highly enough.
