We used northstar for our move from 2 apartments to one new in March. Northstar was beyond professional and made our move as easy as it could be. My boyfriend used them the next weekend to move his office and again had a great experience. Moving is still awful, but Northstar makes it better.

My directions were simple: Find a mover who wasn’t going to cost an arm and a leg, and who would handle EVERYTHING for the move themselves. After hours of searching the internet, reading reviews, sending requests for estimates, and speaking to movers who just didn’t seem to want to give direct answers, I finally received a call from Ted at NorthStar Moving Corp. Ted not only answered all of my (numerous!) questions, but supplied additional information on a few things I hadn’t thought about prior to our discussion. He also seemed comfortable giving an estimate that was less vague and more of an ACTUAL ESTIMATE (I’m not expecting to-the-penny, folks … I wanted something more than “oh, could take two hours, could take 10, depends on the day!). He explained circumstances that COULD change the estimate, and ways to avoid those complications. Ted didn’t just say, “Oh, we can handle it, no problem!” like most of the other movers I’d spoken with over the previous week. He gave specifics, didn’t rush me off the phone, and even followed up with a thorough email which had details that let me know he was not only listening, he was taking notes. I discussed the several conversations and estimates I had collected with my client, who agreed that NorthStar Moving was the way to go. I confirmed with Ted, who sent another email with the updated information. Moving day, NorthStar was an impressive machine! They came to the one-bedroom apartment in Pasadena, packed everything, wrapped the valuables, wrapped the TV to prevent breakage and to shield it from nosy neighbors in the new neighborhood, broke down a few pieces of furniture, loaded the truck, drove to the new location in Highland Park, unloaded the truck, put items and boxes wherever my client requested, cleaned up after themselves, and left. Everything ran smoothly, everyone was prompt, pleasant, and polite. My client was extremely pleased, and I was extremely happy. Just a few short weeks later, I had to call on Ted again, as the same client was moving out of the house due to a termite infestation. Ted was able to schedule a new move date without a hassle, and the movers came in and repeated the whole scenario all over again. Fabulous work, wonderful people, and an extremely efficient company. By the way: I have a second client who is getting ready to help his college-student daughter move from one apartment to another in the Korea Town area. He also accepted my recommendation for NorthStar movers, so I’ll be updating my review sometime in July!

My wife and I have used a few different movers since living in LA. NorthStar was the fastest and most reasonably priced (I received a quote that was almost twice as much from a competitor that we used previously, crazy!). We asked for a “not to exceed” quote which took all of 20 minutes. The actually move cost came in well under. We also took advantage of the Yelp $50 for $100 coupon. The movers showed up at the beginning of the time window and were professional, fast, and efficient. I highly recommend using NorthStar.

After moving so many times, I decided I will never move myself again and it was the best decision. The movers got to my apartment bright and early and had everything done in 4 hours! Ron Cohen stopped by my apartment and gave me a run through of how much it would cost and he answered all my questions patiently quickly before and after the move. I can’t be happier! You should definitely just sit back and relax and let NorthStar make your life so much easier. Awesome overall!

After a few estimates from moving companies my husband and I decided to go with Northstar…. And i am sure glad we did. From they time they came to our apartment to give us a quote they were super pleasant to deal with. Long story somewhat shortened is that we moved from a 2 bed apartment in Burbank to a house in Burbank and they quoted us 7 hours and it only took 4.25 hours. That saved us hundreds!!! Not only are they licensed and insured (a must) but they are very competitive in price. Yeah sure you may find a cheaper moving company but you wont find service like this. We got 3 guys and everything went smooth! Calling them was the best decision!

By far one of the most pleasant, enjoyable experiences I have EVER had moving. These guys are fantastic, and I really can’t recommend them enough. I called on the recommendation of another friend that had used them. I HATE packing, and wanted a company that would handle everything if I needed them to. Northstar was so nice. They sent Ilan, who very helpfully quoted everything and explained how things would work. They quote you the highest possible price given the circumstances, so you can only be happily surprised. And happily surprised I was! The movers came early, and were absolutely friendly and awesome. I’ve never called anyone to PACK for me before, and felt a little guilty, but all the movers were super-nice and put me at ease. They were totally professional, and they finished WELL before the quote time, making the cost even less than I expected! If moving makes you antsy, or you just don’t want to stress, call Northstar. 100% worth it.

North Star Review OMG did I ever regret not using these guys during my last move. The guys arrived just a little after 8:00 AM and I was told they would be there between 8-10 AM. They were ready to get the show on the road even though I had an enormous amount of boxes and antiques. They protected my heirlooms and treated my plants with respect and protected them so they wouldn’t break during the ride as if it were their own property they were moving, which I really appreciated. I was amazed at how quick it was for them to load and ready to get on the road within 3 hours which is about what we all expected they would take and as we found stuff they didn’t realize they had to take, they made room in the truck to make sure all my valuables went with them safely. The crew moved at a speed I had never seen before and the ride was quicker than everyone expected. It only took them 1 hour which they thought it would be about 1 hr 15 min to 1 hr 30 min. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved at the speed to which they arrived at my new place. Once at our new home they cracked the whip, I don’t know where they got the second wind, but these extremely hard workers got it and rolled with their new found wind. The only thing I was expecting different was that they would unload first what the loaded last and I think that would have made things easier for them and quicker and in turn easier when unpacking but I will not take away from what a blessing these guys were to my mother, my pets, and especially to myself. I could not and would have not been able to survive the stress of moving, working 2 jobs, and finding a new place without the wonderful company of North Star. I hope it’s a long time before I have to move again but when I do move into my purchased home I know for sure I will use them and I will make sure not to forget to buy the Yelp Deal which saved me $50 bucks. Now a day, that’s dinner at a nice restaurant. LOL. If you want to shop around, I suggest you do to get piece of mind but don’t forget that you get what you pay for and this place not only gives you the best deal, it gives you an even better customer service from the time you open your door to get your estimate which is spot on with what they will end up spending to the moment they leave your property after unloading all your stuff. I was so tired I almost forgot my receipts and they kept calling me and running after me to give me the receipts. I trusted these men with my most precious items and they were great at treating them as if they were their own. Nothing got lost and THEY did not break anything. They made some new items look like antiques but fortunately I like that look and was grateful I didn’t have to do it myself.

Moving is never any fun. It’s a hassle, stressful and usually chaotic. But this was the best experience I’ve ever had. We moved from North Hollywood to the other side of the 101 and the crew was awesome. They were very friendly, nice and very fast. They even finished faster than estimated, so we spent less money than we thought we were going to! They arrived right on time, busted their butts, and took really great care of our things. Nothing was damaged – not even the house we moved out of or the one we moved in to. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Best moving experience ever!!!! We moved twice in 15-days (our house wasn’t ready to move in), the first move was such a horrible experience (movers that I had used a few years before) that when I had to move again, 15-days later, I looked on yelp for a moving company with a good rating. Northstar was the 3rd call to a moving company I made. They were professional from the start; Ron Cohen came out and gave me an estimate which accounted for 2 trucks and 4 men. Before moving day, they called me and emailed me to confirm. The movers, Mike, Steve, Jaime, and Daniel all showed up promptly and moved us with 2 trucks in 6 hours from start to finish. Because they were so efficient, the bill was less then the actual quote which made me very, very happy!!! The guys were great and I would positively recommend them to anyone. I have used Northstar for my last two moves and been nothing but impressed by their service, professionalism and value. I worked with Alice and she did everything that she could to make the move as affordable as possible, from helping me schedule it during the week (instead of the weekend which was slightly more expensive), to getting me a repeat customer discount. These guys are focused on customer service, not nickle and diming people to death. Look at all the reviews and it is obvious that they are in this business for the long haul. The three man crew moved my two bedroom apartment from Long Beach to Costa Mesa in under four hours, even with double drive time. We were all packed and ready for them, but they still took care of all of the furniture, televisions, appliances, etc. For what this company charges, and for as excellent as their results are, you would be a fool to not use them. A couple hundred bucks is well worth not having to deal with truck rental, tracking down people to help, etc.

NorthStar moving was amazing. It started with the great and easy customer service I got from Steffy over the phone and ended with the fastest, easiest move ever. They made multiple stops for me and we’re super accommodating. We had two pick-ups and were done within three hours. NorthStar Moving was so good, I hired them again two weeks later to move couches and a bed from my sister’s house. Steffy was great again as were the movers and the Yelp coupon I purchased made the deal even sweeter. I not only used them again personally, but will recommend them to anyone looking for a great moving experience.

I have moved way too many times and have gotten hosed each time!!!!!!! I saw this company on yelp, and could not believe all good reviews. I called and had the guy give me an estimate, which was very fair. The day the movers came..3 guys, and they were so efficient… I would have bet money that they had worked together for years! So I asked the guy ‘how long have you worked here?’ he responded ‘5 days’ lololol I was completely impressed… These guys were literally jogging up and down the steps to make sure it was done in time, and I even ended up paying a little less from the original bid. (I didn’t know that was possible.. Lol) This company is great and would recommend them to anyone…. And if I have to move again…I’m calling them!

These guys are great! customer service was on point and the movers that came were respectful and hard working. Ok.. So I had to move two storage units worth of my junk in two different cities long beach and la palma to another storage unit in monterey park (consolodate). talk about moves… so any way.. these guys came to work, though they were amazed at my hoarding ( i could tell by the look in their eyes…lol) they didnt say a word and got my junk into the truck.. they unloaded with speed and efficiency… very polite and professional… I would use them again. five thumbs up!!!

I moved again and used Northstar again and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! Last time they were cheap, fast and efficient. This time, they were cheap, fast, efficient and EXTREME MOVERS! What’s that you say? What is EXTREME MOVING? Well I bet you thought you could just live your life and move your boring Ikea furniture from one apartment to another like every other yuppie in Santa Monica. Not with Northstar Moving! My bro Jose blasted into my apartment with a mission–To get his crew to move my stuff with as much badassery as possible. Bros were moving dollies with Herculean strength–two at a a time. These guys dismantled my furniture with Ninja skills… In fact, I thought one dude was part Robocop with the way his wrists rotated. They boxed up my rare and delicate porcelain clown collection like they were Tibetan monks balancing lotus blossoms on their fingertips. Not a single Bozo was harmed. They looked at my couch and looked at the door and said, “Nah, screw that.” Sure, the couch got IN to the apartment fine and they could have gotten it OUT of the apartment the same way but why be boring? These EXTREME MOVERS pulled the truck up to my balcony, sent one dude down below and had two bros hurl the couch over the balcony only to have one dude at the bottom CATCH IT AND HOLD IT IN MIDAIR UNTIL THE OTHER GUYS RAN DOWN TO HELP HIM. I’m sorry, Northstar, but do you also double as a dating service because I think I’m in LOVE. So, sure, you could go find another moving company. However, they won’t be as cheap, as fast, as efficient or as EXTREME as Northstar. Tell them you read this on Yelp and you’ll get 5%-10% off because they love hooking it up.
