Great overall service. I’ve used them before and when I called to schedule they gave me the rate of my move from 3 years ago. 3 men, one truck for a 1 bedroom. I scheduled early (8am-10am) and they arrived at 7:30 which was perfect. They phoned and asked if I was ready and if not they could wait! I said come on! They loaded the truck in an hour and change and got to my new place in record time. The whole move was 3 hours and change, and a bargain with the yelp coupon. George and his team were great and friendly and hard working. I will use Northstar again for sure.

My girlfriend and I decided to move in together recently and needed to find some good movers to help us move two apartments from the Hollywood area to Studio City. Everyone’s heard horrible stories about moving companies, so we were a bit nervous. But that all changed when we found NorthStar. We had gotten estimates from a few other companies, but no one made us feel as comfortable as NorthStar. They give you a “not to exceed” estimate, so you know exactly what to expect. I arranged everything through Alice, and then Ron came over to do the estimate. He did a great job arranging everything, and was WAY more professional than some of the other companies we met with. He seemed like he does this all the time (which I’m sure he does) and knew exactly what he was doing. We were moving 2 apartments in Hollywood to 1 location in Studio City, and Ron arranged for a crew of 3 guys to help us. They arrived first thing Saturday morning and were very professional. It was very rainy and we were dreading the move a bit, but these guys made it seem like it was nothing. They helped disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed and moved things into position. Our movers finished the move ahead of schedule so we even saved a couple hundred bucks! After the move was over, we noticed that they had brought over a couple of large panels that belonged to a wardrobe that wasn’t supposed to come with us. I let Ron know, and he had a couple of guys come the next night (at our convenience) to pick them up and take them back at no cost to us. Ron even tipped us off at the Yelp promo they’re running…$100 for $50 good toward your move. AND if you pay in cash, they knock another 3% off the bill. They really made this process go so smoothly. I HIGHLY recommend using these guys, or at the very least getting a quote from them. They listen to the customer, quote a fair price, and make moving a simple task.

Truly a wonderful experience. My move could not have gone any smoother, or more efficient had I chosen another company. I have moved several times in my adult life, and North Star Moving is by far the most professional, friendly, and financially fair moving company I have ever used. They followed up before, and after the move to ensure that my experience was nothing short of perfect. Eric and his moving crew were wonderful, and Stefy in the office get 5 stars for being so personable, and accommodating. The online Yelp coupon was just the icing on the cake!

I have moved 5 times- 3 interstate and 2 local moves. By far this move was the smoothest. NorthStar delivered everything that was agreed to very professionally and on less time that was estimated! Nick and his team where efficient and polite employees. . Financially- their “non-exceed” bid have me peace of mind as i had a budget in mind. the YELP Coupon where you pay $ 50 for $ 100 dollar value was a great incentive, in addition to 5% discount if cash is paid. Since the job was finished faster- I paid approx. 30% that was originally quoted! I know how stressful it is to move and when the day comes to move again [hopefully not for a LONG time] i would definitely hire NorthStar again.

As everyone knows, moving is terrible. Northstar helped us through the annoying stuff. They were on time, super friendly, efficient and just good guys. Jesus and his guys, I think their names were Marcus and Dalybanez made our days!! And they got done so quickly it ended up being cheaper than we were quoted.

We had the best moving experience we’ve ever had with NorthStar. A three person team packed literally everything in the entire house in one day and then a four person team moved everything to the new house the next. Final costs came in well under their initial not-to-exceed estimate. Boxes were clearly labeled, well-packed and gently carried from point A to point B. Not a single thing was damaged in transit. They were courteous, hardworking and totally punctual. Will absolutely use them again for the next move, whenever that may be.

We hired NorthStar for an office move, and I was very happy with all that they did. On the two days of the move, I found the team of movers to be impressively professional, hard-working, efficient, and good-spirited. Also, fast and tireless! As much as I had been dreading the moving process, these guys made our moving days almost enjoyable. In comparison with other moving companies, their price quote was very good, and they ended up completing the work for less than their estimate. As we were unpacking, we found a couple of damaged items, which I don’t think is at all bad for the scale of our move (8 movers and 2 trucks over 2 long days). But more importantly, their claims department was very helpful about remedying the situation, so we suffered no significant loss. Their attitude and customer service definitely gets 5 stars. I have no complaints, and would highly recommend them. Thank you, NorthStar!

After reading all of the other positive reviews on Yelp we decided to use Northstar moving for our apartment move a week ago. Not only did they show up early, but they worked efficiently and took great care in making sure our items were moved safely and quickly. The women I booked the move with at their office also alerted me to their special yelp deal, where I paid $50 for a $100 voucher off the total moving cost, which was very nice. For anyone looking for movers, these are your people. Book them, you won’t regret it.

They moved me last Friday on the 6th of Jan. Three guys and a truck. From start to finish it was a great experience. Hard working, asked me where I wanted everything, no complaints. These guys were like energizer rabbits. They were organized, careful and didn’t try to bill me for things I didn’t need or want. I’ll be using them again if needed in the future. Paul in Wilmington

Great work – they took longer than anticipated but I blame that on my roommate not packing up his stuff adequately. My boyfriend supervised the move, so I wasn’t actually there, but he said they worked really hard and as fast as they could and even gave us a discount because the price way exceeded our estimate because it took so much longer. The only thing I caution about these hour-based places is – make sure you have everything in boxes and make sure you factor in how many stairs/elevators the crew has to navigate. This could cause them to greatly exceed your budget!

Fantastic! I used them in February 2011 to move my entire house into storage. The movers were great, really fast, helpful, on time and provided great service. In December 2011, I had them move my stuff from the storage unit into my new townhouse. Again they were great.

I agree with all the other 5* reviews. They are fantastic from the moment scheduling the move all the way to delivering the last box. We initially called The Real RocknRoll Movers but they were going to be closed for the holiday week so they referred us NorthStar. That says a lot when one reputable mover refers you to another. We had a 4 man team move our fully furnished three bedroom home from WeHo to Brentwood in just over 6 hours. The moving team was fast, hardworking, polite and confident. We felt completely at ease by their professionalism. They were extremely proactive and dove in to get the job done. They worked their tails off. Their prices are reasonable with no hidden or up charges that most movers are notorious for pulling at the last minute. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

I used Northstar for a local move from Sherman Oaks to Woodland Hills. My experience with the company was great! Ron Cohen gave me a very accurate estimate prior to the job. On the day of the move, Jesus and his crew arrived right on time. They were extremely efficient and skillful at carefully wrapping every piece of furniture…not a single scratch or ding. We needed to move from Westwood to Santa Monica, and obtained recommendations from friends and from Yelp; Northstar’s name repeatedly came up. Their service was great, from the in-home estimate from their employee Gil (who gave us a very reasonable not-to-exceed estimate) to the team of four moving guys who were punctual, timely, and professional. It turned out to take even less time that was originally estimated, so we paid even less! The Yelp discount and $100 off (with purchase of $50 coupon) made it even sweeter. I highly recommend them!

BEST moving experience ever!!! The four-men crew arrived early wasted no time and dove right in. They truly have the art of moving down to a science. I was amazed at how quickly these guys moved and how well they worked together–it was textbook perfect teamwork! They seem to have a system formulated, a sort of assembly line formation that just made the move feel effortless and stress-free from beginning to end!!!
