So pleased with our smooth move, and very happy to recommend Northstar!

We chose Northstar for our move from San Francisco to Silverlake in Los Angeles.
(Jim?) Jose and Oscar came to help us pack up. They were all courteous, helpful and friendly and did a superb job of packing up our stuff safely. Everything arrived in one piece and Jose wrapped the plants from our deck most expertly. 
A few days later and our stuff arrived in Los Angeles. We are located in a winding cul de sac, and warned Northstar it may be difficult to get the 25ft truck down our street. We were worried we would have to pay the extra charge for a small truck and extra people to relay our stuff. We needn’t have worried. SOMEHOW they managed to get the truck to our house, where once again the movers were superb. Super friendly, efficient and hardworking. As mentioned in another review, they even reassembled the bed without us asking. All in all Northstar were very easy to work with, and the guys that work for them exactly the kind of people you want helping you moving out and into your new home.

I was really impressed by NorthStar. Quick, precise, professional! I hired them for my move from LA to SD. I called the office and made an appointment with Ron for an on-site estimate. He drove to my place and quickly survey everything that needed to be loaded and gave me a number. All withing 20 min! On the day of moving, the movers showed up and carefully wrapped everything in cushions. They were done within an hour and informed me that they were on the road! Within two hours, they showed up at my SD place and unloaded things within an hour. The whole process was as smooth as jello. I will definitely hire them again for any subsequent move (hopefully not too soon)!

Excellent customer service!!  Stephi in the office was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions.  Ilan came out to give our free estimate.  He was friendly and professional.  He worked with us on the pricing and made sure to mention the yelp deal.  Everything was above and beyond what you would expect from a moving company, or really any service company for that matter.  Highly recommended!!

Moving sucks – packing, unpacking, the whole bit. Northstar moving company made the experience so much easier – they are worth every penny and then some. Ilan arrived at my door and he was extremely polite and knowledgeable. He gave me tips on what should be in boxes and what to bundle to save time for the movers = meaning that he was saving me money. He was so helpful and informative (even telling me about the yelp deal) that I was instantly blown away by his professionalism and this company. I called my husband and told him my experience and we immediately decided this was the company for us. My next call was to the other two moving companies we had coming for an estimate to cancel, then I called Ilan to say we would love to do business with him. The movers did not disappoint – they came, packed, and moved with an efficiency and speed that makes me wonder why they don’t have capes? They were polite and respectful, sociable, and gracious for the protein bars and cold water bottles. (How are people so rude to not offer these things to people LITERALLY doing the heavy lifting for your move?) They met us at our new place the next day with the same efficiency and speed at UNPACKING and had us ready to settle in our new place in a matter of hours. It was such a treat for me, as I’m someone who usually gathers friends and family for a move and having it take an entire weekend just to get our stuff to a new place. Not even mentioning the unpacking and the rest of it. I highly recommend having professional movers everytime you move, b/c they know how to pack and how to move it quickly – the time you save on that alone is worth the money you spend. And if you want GOOD people who know what they’re doing for a reasonable price, then Northstar Movers is who you want.

NorthStar Moving Company did a tremendous job on my move. From calling the office and speaking with Alice, to having Ron come out and giving me an estimate, along with the movers both in LA and the East Bay they were fantastic. Alice and Ron were both quick to respond to my emails and phone calls. The movers in LA were polite, courteous and efficient and I can say the exact same about the movers in the East Bay. I finally got around to unpacking all my clothes about a week after I moved in. I soon realized I was missing a suitcase with some clothes. I grabbed the inventory sheet and quickly realized it was item number 24 that was missing. I emailed Ron that night with the information on my missing bag, he responded almost immediately at like 9:30pm and said he would follow up with me in the morning. By 8:30am the next day he had tracked down my bag and it was delivered to me that afternoon by JC. Lesson learned on my part I should have been checking the inventory list, but their ability to locate the bag and return it to me less than 24 hours from the time I realized it was missing speaks in volumes. NorthStar will be my moving company from here on out.

i recently moved from SF to LA. i was travelling for a few months and upon my return, found a new home in LA. i needed to store my belongings until i was done travelling. one of the reasons i went with northstar is that they will store your stuff within the company, not through a third party like some of the other movers i had contacted.

the northstar movers seamlessly and safely moved my belongings out of my SF flat and moved them to a storage unit until i called them four and a half months later telling them i had found a spot in LA and was ready to move in. they had me moved into my new LA apartment six days after that call. the movers seriously were my saviors! such hard workers and very professional and careful, but quick. they wrapped and unwrapped all furniture in moving blankets and set up any furniture that needed to be reassembled. 

while not the cheapest quote i received from a moving company, the quality and service that northstar provides is worth every penny, and choosing them is one of the best ideas i’ve made. their reviews are stellar for a reason — make sure you do your research before choosing a mover. if i ever need movers again, i will definitely consider northstar!

These guys were outstanding. Moved from LA to SF. Everything was incredibly easy. They stuck to the quoted price. The actual movers were very polite and helpful. Mike Taylor and Julio Molina. Would recommend these guys to my grandmother in a heartbeat.

These guys are total professionals. I’ll be happy to use them again in the future. We had a complicated move: LA to San Francisco with stops at storage locations in both places. Was worried that something would go wrong, but Northstar handled it in exemplary fashion. First contact was with Alice at the home office. She was super nice and patient, walked me through the whole process and afterward followed up to make sure all my questions had been answered. A few days later, Ilan came out for a no-cost estimate: He took about 15 mins, did a few calculations and then gave me a price that was more than reasonable. On the day of the move, Carlos and his crew showed up bright and early, and they couldn’t have been friendlier or more professional. We hadn’t had time to pack everything, and these guys made quick work of whatever was left. Seriously, these guys work hard. A few days later, on the day we had arranged, they showed up at our new place in SF and unloaded everything – again, let me emphasize that they work FAST. After the move, I discovered that a few supports from a chaise lounge had fallen off on the move. Called Northstar, spoke to Wendy and after gathering the facts she immediately agreed to cover the whole replacement cost (even though the price to do so was quite high). Moving is never fun, but Northstar really helped minimize the stress. I’d recommend them to anyone.
