After deciding to move 60 miles away we considered having a moving service assist us with our transition. The task of finding the perfect company was overwhelming with the reputation of scams and bad service many moving companies have our there. I found Northstar on Yelp and after researching their company with several sources, I took the risk. The first step was with the on site estimate representative who comes out and assess all of things you are moving to give you an estimate for services. Then they give you a “not to exceed” price estimate which truly was a major perk compared to other companies. I took the risk and words can not express how they made our move “easy as pie”. The 5 man, 2 Truck team arrived on time, worked efficiently and completed the entire job in less time than expected. My family watched in awe and relaxed on the side while they loaded all of our things, packed them safely and transported them to our new place. When they arrived at our new place they place all of our items in the correct rooms and even assembled some things. Moving is very stressful and the assistance of Northstar truly made a difference! With high gas prices, distance and not enough manpower a moving service was the best choice. If you ever consider moving, call Northstar, they were worth every penny!
NorthStar Moving Company did a tremendous job on my move. From calling the office and speaking with Alice, to having Ron come out and giving me an estimate, along with the movers both in LA and the East Bay they were fantastic. Alice and Ron were both quick to respond to my emails and phone calls. The movers in LA were polite, courteous and efficient and I can say the exact same about the movers in the East Bay. I finally got around to unpacking all my clothes about a week after I moved in. I soon realized I was missing a suitcase with some clothes. I grabbed the inventory sheet and quickly realized it was item number 24 that was missing. I emailed Ron that night with the information on my missing bag, he responded almost immediately at like 9:30pm and said he would follow up with me in the morning. By 8:30am the next day he had tracked down my bag and it was delivered to me that afternoon by JC. Lesson learned on my part I should have been checking the inventory list, but their ability to locate the bag and return it to me less than 24 hours from the time I realized it was missing speaks in volumes. NorthStar will be my moving company from here on out.
I have moved way too many times and have gotten hosed each time!!!!!!! I saw this company on yelp, and could not believe all good reviews. I called and had the guy give me an estimate, which was very fair. The day the movers came..3 guys, and they were so efficient… I would have bet money that they had worked together for years! So I asked the guy ‘how long have you worked here?’ he responded ‘5 days’ lololol I was completely impressed… These guys were literally jogging up and down the steps to make sure it was done in time, and I even ended up paying a little less from the original bid. (I didn’t know that was possible.. Lol) This company is great and would recommend them to anyone…. And if I have to move again…I’m calling them!
These guys are great! customer service was on point and the movers that came were respectful and hard working. Ok.. So I had to move two storage units worth of my junk in two different cities long beach and la palma to another storage unit in monterey park (consolodate). talk about moves… so any way.. these guys came to work, though they were amazed at my hoarding ( i could tell by the look in their eyes…lol) they didnt say a word and got my junk into the truck.. they unloaded with speed and efficiency… very polite and professional… I would use them again. five thumbs up!!!
I moved again and used Northstar again and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! Last time they were cheap, fast and efficient. This time, they were cheap, fast, efficient and EXTREME MOVERS! What’s that you say? What is EXTREME MOVING? Well I bet you thought you could just live your life and move your boring Ikea furniture from one apartment to another like every other yuppie in Santa Monica. Not with Northstar Moving! My bro Jose blasted into my apartment with a mission–To get his crew to move my stuff with as much badassery as possible. Bros were moving dollies with Herculean strength–two at a a time. These guys dismantled my furniture with Ninja skills… In fact, I thought one dude was part Robocop with the way his wrists rotated. They boxed up my rare and delicate porcelain clown collection like they were Tibetan monks balancing lotus blossoms on their fingertips. Not a single Bozo was harmed. They looked at my couch and looked at the door and said, “Nah, screw that.” Sure, the couch got IN to the apartment fine and they could have gotten it OUT of the apartment the same way but why be boring? These EXTREME MOVERS pulled the truck up to my balcony, sent one dude down below and had two bros hurl the couch over the balcony only to have one dude at the bottom CATCH IT AND HOLD IT IN MIDAIR UNTIL THE OTHER GUYS RAN DOWN TO HELP HIM. I’m sorry, Northstar, but do you also double as a dating service because I think I’m in LOVE. So, sure, you could go find another moving company. However, they won’t be as cheap, as fast, as efficient or as EXTREME as Northstar. Tell them you read this on Yelp and you’ll get 5%-10% off because they love hooking it up.
Recently i had to help my mother move from her assisted living center to a nursing home and part of that move required me to move some large furniture items to a storage facility. So i needed to find a moving company and of course, one that would be trustworthy and exhibit a high level of customer satisfaction. I began my search using Yelp.com and noticed a number of apparent satisfied customers. The customers seemed very happy with Northstar’s service so i decided to research their Better Business Bureau rating and that reflected a high level of satisfaction as well. So i decided to go with Northstar. The process of contacting Northstar was very simple and quick. I decided to use their website and entered a estimate request. Very quickly a representative named Stefy called me back with some questions and she was very polite and answered all the questions i had. After several more communications we were set for our move date. The move date went very smoothly. The 3 guys assigned to my job were very friendly and communicative. They completed our job efficiently and took special care to shrink wrap my fragile items for the trip over to the storage facility. All in all, the job only took about 2 hours with another hour for a special run to drop off a chair at my mothers nursing home facility. I was extremely happy with their work and their efficiency. I would highly recommend Northstar to anyone who needs to undertake a move.
The crew showed up on time, and got everything moved out in just about 3 hours from door to door! My tip to you is if you know exactly what date you’ll be moving, book early so you get a better hourly rate. I know we’ll be moving again in about a year and that we’ll be using northstar again.
A co-worker referred me to NorthStar and they did not disappoint. When I called for a quote, the representative informed me that if I chose NorthStar, that I should go on Yelp and get the coupon. They didn’t have to do that but it showed that they wanted the business. The day of my move, they arrived early – better early than not at all. They came in under their quote and were super efficient. Very courteous and professional. I would definitely use them again!
The best experience I’ve had with movers and I will only use them. When I first booked them, they gave me a window between 12 and 6 pm, but told me they would call an hour or so before. I got a call the day before confirming the appt. for next day and went over the details (address, supplies, etc). The day of, they called an hour in advance, they showed up on time, and an hour into the move, a representative from the office showed up with a bag of treats and wanted to make sure everything is going well. I thought it was a nice touch. The whole move went without a hitch, the guys were professional, nice, and worked quickly. We moved from Van Nuys to Woodland Hills, and all was loaded and unloaded and done in about 3 hours. They do round up, so we paid for 4 hours.
