Let’s Send Hunger Packing 2023

Our 11th annual “Let’s Send Hunger Packing” food drive for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, took place between June 26 to August 31, 2023. We were pleased to team up again with Compass Real Estate, together with the support of our community, we all raised $19,629 for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, providing 78,516 meals to feed hungry children in Los Angeles County. 

In California, 2 million children live in low-income households and are affected by hunger. For some children, the only meal they receive is at school. When school is out for the summer, families turn to a food bank for assistance. However, during the summer, food banks often experience a decline of donations. And, due to the continuing surge in inflation; food banks are paying more for food, transportation and distribution. Food Banks need our help more than ever.

The facts:

  • 1 out of 4 children in Los Angeles will go to bed hungry tonight.
  • Nearly 80% of the children in the Los Angeles Unified School District live in poverty and struggle with hunger.
  • Every $1 equals 4 nutritious meals.
  • Every $25 donated provides enough food for up to 100 meals to feed hungry children, seniors and families.

We will continue each and every year. In an era when the need is at its greatest, we are so grateful to everyone who helped make a difference in the lives of hungry children throughout the LA region.

The 12th annual Let’s Send Hunger Packing Food Drive will kick-off in Spring 2024. To continue to support the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in these unprecedented times and beyond, donations can be made here.
