My girlfriend and I decided to move in together recently and needed to find some good movers to help us move two apartments from the Hollywood area to Studio City. Everyone’s heard horrible stories about moving companies, so we were a bit nervous. But that all changed when we found NorthStar. We had gotten estimates from a few other companies, but no one made us feel as comfortable as NorthStar. They give you a “not to exceed” estimate, so you know exactly what to expect. I arranged everything through Alice, and then Ron came over to do the estimate. He did a great job arranging everything, and was WAY more professional than some of the other companies we met with. He seemed like he does this all the time (which I’m sure he does) and knew exactly what he was doing. We were moving 2 apartments in Hollywood to 1 location in Studio City, and Ron arranged for a crew of 3 guys to help us. They arrived first thing Saturday morning and were very professional. It was very rainy and we were dreading the move a bit, but these guys made it seem like it was nothing. They helped disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed and moved things into position. Our movers finished the move ahead of schedule so we even saved a couple hundred bucks! After the move was over, we noticed that they had brought over a couple of large panels that belonged to a wardrobe that wasn’t supposed to come with us. I let Ron know, and he had a couple of guys come the next night (at our convenience) to pick them up and take them back at no cost to us. Ron even tipped us off at the Yelp promo they’re running…$100 for $50 good toward your move. AND if you pay in cash, they knock another 3% off the bill. They really made this process go so smoothly. I HIGHLY recommend using these guys, or at the very least getting a quote from them. They listen to the customer, quote a fair price, and make moving a simple task.
