I had a relatively recent nightmare with a moving company ran by a bunch of scumbags, so I was wisely cautious about hiring a small business moving company. When I submitted my request for a bid, NorthStar was one of the first companies to reply to my request.
I vetted them along with other companies and their customer representative went out of her way to understand my needs. I was perfectly upfront about my need to stay on my tight budget and prior to my move they worked with me to estimate the weight of my items as accurately as possible prior to my move.
Once the movers arrived, they were friendly, professional, fast, and courteous. They quickly called me to inform me of the final weight of my items, confirming that my move would be within budget.
I was also pleasantly surprised by how quickly my items arrived, they told me it could be up to 10 business days, but my items arrived in 5.
A great example of what a moving company should be like, I highly recommend them!

This is a glowing review of NorthStar, but before I sing their praises, I must tell you about the ordeal I went through finding them. Several weeks ago I needed a moving company so I visited moving.com (big mistake)~ as immediately I was inundated with 20 or more movers who were all underbidding and slamming the competition. When I arranged for several of these movers to visit my home for a confirming price quote all of a sudden their bids doubled! A classic “bait and switch” tactic.
Finding NorthStar was a dream come true. Tori Fowler not only was patient in handling my inquiry, but she never once put down her competition; That in itself was a refreshing difference! I checked out NorthStar on this BBB site and also protectyourmove.org. and it is important to note that they were the ONLY moving company with a perfect record. I thought to myself, this is too good to be true, but when Ran and his crew arrived to begin moving the furniture I knew our possessions were in good hands.
Ran and his crew were professional and packed everything carefully. Three days later our things arrived in perfect condition in Arizona. Save yourself alot of time and hassle, just choose NorthStar and your next move will be a dream come true!

Two weeks ago I logged on to http://moving.com to find a moving company. Immediately I was deluged by a zillion movers all trying to undercut each other. It was not only annoying, it was maddening…trying to figure out who to choose for our move from Rancho Palos Verdes, California to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Then I spoke to Tori Fowler at NorthStar. What a breath of fresh air she was! She never bad mouthed the competition, and she was very patient with me and honest. Her quote was accurate and much less than some of the other companies yet not a “bait and switch” scam as so many companies practice. They would quote me a low ball price and then arrive at our home and the price would double!!!
Ran and his crew were amazingly wonderful. They are a true “dream team” and deserve kudos for their caring attitude.
I think it is worth mentioning that the ONLY moving company with a perfect record (A+) on the BBB is NorthStar. Also if you check them out on http://protectyourmove… they have zero complaints! Every other moving company had lower scores and many complaints. In fact, I thought their perfect score was too good to be true, but I must say that NorthStar is a DREAM COME TRUE for anyone who has to move and is confused on who to trust. We moved on a Tuesday and our furniture arrived 3 days later. In perfect condition.
